Haven't had any pics to post for a while as I'm on a bit of a diet and food has been fairly plain.
Tonight was fish night though and when I bought the sea bass I couldn't resist the pot of mixed white and brown crab meat so ended up with this:
Pan fried sea bass with buttered steamed charlotte potatoes, steamed samphire and a crab, white wine, dill, lemon and creme fraiche sauce, it was lovely!

Venison carbonade. Sorry about the crap photo, redcurrant jelly was still dissolving too; forgot to take one on the plate.. served with chips and veg.
For the beer/marinade we used a bottle of Vichtenaar (decent Flemish red, sweeter and less tart than some and as I'd rather drink Rodenbach or des Jacobins ) and 1/4 bottle of Schlenkerla Marzen a non-traditional twist to see if it might give a touch of smoke and meatier flavour. Minus the mustard but I don't think it was needed, really tasty!

Mrs SC regularly cooks a batch of lasagne for the freezer (we prefer the flavour and texture when it's been through a cycle in the freezer). Lovely with Brussels sprouts.

Now that's a combo I've never considered...Homemade lasagne by Elliott and Nolan, on Flickr
I find Lasagne as frustratingly difficult as pizza, interesting to hear freezing might help, other than basic leftovers, freezers great for intensifying chilli
Sorry to bring to tone down a peg or two, but this was cheap, easy and (to me at least!) delicious. It's a garlic bread with sizeable prawns, oregano and grated mozzarella on top. A bit rich, but very tasty and yes I'd had a few
It'll be great when I can get it off the ceiling

Eating the freezer before Christmas so leftover chilli with some Costco hot dogs that have been in the freezer for yonks. Cheese hidden under chilli and served with onion rings and new potato's that were done in the actifry with some leftover pesto from last night. Bit meh if i'm honest.
Now there’s a good beer, good combo. original my favourite though.
Crap photo but an epic curry:
Chicken Dhansak from the BBC site, tasted just like my local takeaway

I think the dogs look pretty good! Where do you get the beer from? Until recently I could only get it in B&M, but even they've stopped doing it now. Short of ordering a crate direct, is there anywhere else I can get it?Jer_1974 said:

i've always felt that a good home cooked curry should be better than a takeaway! Otherwise it's a bit like saying this burger I made; it's as good as McDonalds!Chicken Dhansak from the BBC site, tasted just like my local takeaway
