Birthday weekend in London, Sundays roast

Birthday dinner at Hawksmoor, their amazing potted beef, followed by meat, then dessert (didn't frame the shot as well this time...hehe)

That looks fantastic, was it from a recipe?

Yeah Gordon Ramsay.it was very tasty. Had the whole duck (~2kg) between 2 of us.

Gonna try a ken hom recipe next time which looks good.

Last night I did hasselback potatoes baked for an hour with butter, then cheese for five more minutes and topped with Greek style yoghurt, spring onion and chopped bacon.

To go with it I fried pork chops topped with lemon zest and fennel seeds and served with home made coleslaw including red apple, red onion, celery, lemon juice and fennel seeds.

I don't know why the pork chops ended up so small, they weren't over-done but they almost disappeared! hehe

Still, it was quite filling and tasted great!

I've been tasked with making something dirty and meaty for dinner. But have a limited time scale, 90 mins. I was thinking of beef chili nachos or home made chicken kebabs. thoughts, recipes? Burgers are off as well as and rice

Pork fillet, cut it in half beat it flat, flour it, egg it, roll it in panko bread crumbs, fry. Schnitzel.

Beef or pork Larb if you like Thai food.

If you have time to marinate or advance prep (or just buy the stuff ready made) then giant flat breads stuffed with grilled spiced chicken thigh pieces, hummus, baba ganoush, mango chutney, raita, home made picked onion rings (10 mins), shredded salad and fresh tomatoes.

Messy as hell to eat and taste amazing. You need to make the flatbreads though as they must be at least 1 foot long and 6" wide and the chicken has to be really charred under the grill.

Probably the most requested meal in our house when the kids are home.
