Also don't know if this link works but a very similar recipe to the seitan my housemate makes: https://lookaside.fbsbx.com/file/Vegetarian%20Stea...

pasted below as well:

Vegetarian Steaks
1 C. Water
2 T. Yeast Flakes
2 t. Onion Powder
1 t. Garlic Powder
2 T. vegetarian chicken or beef seasoning (see next page)
¼ t. Sage
½ t. Thyme
½ t. Italian Seasoning
¼ t. Sea Salt
1⅓ C. Gluten Flour
¼ C. Whole Wheat Flour
Broth:
8 C. Water
2 T. Yeast Flakes
2 T. vegetarian chicken or beef seasoning (see next page)
¼ t. Basil
½ t. Thyme
2 Dashes cayenne pepper
1 envelope dry onion soup
1 envelope dru vegetable soup
(if you prefer, you can replace the soup with 2 stalks celery, cut into chunks, a medium
chopped onion and 1 chopped bell pepper, plus 2 T. oil and 2 additional Tablespoons
chicken or beef-style seasoning)
Mix first nine ingredients together in medium sized mixing bowl. In separate container,
thoroughly mix the flour together and gradually add the seasoned water mixture to the
flour, mixing just enough to make a firm ball. Set aside.
In medium sized pot, mix all broth ingredients and bring to a boil. Slice seitan into ¼”
slices, light flatten and drop into boiling broth. Cook for 45-60 min. Seitan is now ready
to use in your favorite veggie steaks recipe. I like to bread and fry and serve with pepper
and onions.
(the broth makes a delicious gravy by blending until smooth. You may need to add some
water)
Vegan Chicken-like Seasoning
1 1/3 c nutritional yeast flakes
3 T onion powder
2 1/2 tsp garlic powder
2 1/2 T sea salt
1/2 tsp celery seed
2 T Italian seasoning
1 T parsley flakes
Blend smooth all. Store in a glass container. Use it as chicken flavor for soup, patties,
gravy, etc.
Vegan Beef-like Seasoning
1 c nutritional yeast flakes
5 T soy sauce powder, unfermented
1 T sea salt
2 T onion powder
2 tsp garlic powder
½ tsp celery seeds
¼ tsp marjoram
1 tsp parsley flakes
1 T paprika
Blend all ingredients in a dry blender. Place it in a glass jar. Keep in the
REFRIGERATOR.

This should really be the midnight snack rather than dinner.

Late at night, eating chips and gravy, watching local porn on the computer

weapon of choice for ram raiding them.

I am thirsty !

Some music from Finland for pudding to get my mind off that

Much obliged! Reminds me I really need to get hold of some Indian bay leaves online. My local Indian supermarkets only have them in enormous sacks.

Is this the latest hipster trend? Shame you're not as discerning about your food choices!

No probs mate,

I just used some fresh ones from the garden for this recipe, never tried Indian ones before, but sounds interesting... what's the difference?

Basically they taste like cinnamon so go well with other Indian spices, our ones don't really belong in curries to be honest.

This wiki page describes it quite well
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bay_leaf

They're a bugger to find though!

I once spilled an entire blenders worth of boiling water on my forehead and stomach whilst making hot chocolate. Excruciating is the word.

Picture minty white feet from wearing socks all year. In a boat, fishing in Australia. High UV. I had a fried egg sized bluster in the top of each foot. Also had blisters on my ears and face. Agony smile

Thanks guys, I'm basically on deaths door, I have a bandage on and everything! As it's the dinner thread...

I got it with a safety pin then pealed the skin off. Apparently stops scars, so says my boss (the baby), who had boiling water on him as a child
