Chow mein, without noodles? confused
Its not chow mein. In the same way if I make a chicken pie with no chicken in it, it is not a chicken pie.
To clear this up it’s a Chop Suey not a Chow Mein

My partner fancied a Chinese.. so cooked Sweet & sour chicken, and some battered “chicken balls”

It also looks like CSV.

The chop suet, née chow mein hold the noodles, doesn't look like CSV, not at all. The pink dessert, if that qualifies as looking like CSV, someone needs to go and see their urologist or gastroenterologist pdq.

I'm not that familiar with Chinese dishes, so you can blame The Hairy Bikers, they called it chow mein, although they did highlight the lack of noodles.

What's CSV?

Not quite, you need to look at the dirty takeaway thread, possibly vol 1.

The V in that case stands for vomit, the rest you can make up. Frankly your stir fried chicken and vegetables does NOT deserve such a disgraceful remark. It looked OK frankly. Sorry to be a bit po faced.

Echoed here, we've prepped hundreds of crabs over the years, beginning of the season now so we'll be having our fair share over the next few months.
We just love getting into all the nooks and crannies extracting every flake of juicy meat.lick
We always use wooden kebab sticks to get the meat out, I find they give a little more "grab" than steel when they're damp. Might be just what we're used to though.

Homemade walnut rollslick fantastic simple food, heaven.

Generally the brew doesn't taste as good as off the shelf beer, but that bread is something else, easily the best I've had, so totally worth the effort.

He cooks it in the base of a Le Creuset casserole dish for the heat. I'll get the recipe.
