Rum by Nick Grant, on Flickr
that man likes a tiki cup!!
Two favourite daily grogs in there, plus a Christmas treat (Appleton / O.V.D. / El Dorado) cloud9

Appleton is always in the house, but Christmas is sorted as there's still half a bottle each of Diplomatica and a Ron Yahaca smile

just finished my bottle of Mezan XO Jamaican rum from M&S. It truly was a wonderful rum, one of the best I've had at the pricepoint.

If you want to try a more pure product I'd definitely recommend it. It's uncoloured and unsweetened.

I've just had a look at that Mezan XO, and it's very pale like a Cockspur or Mount Gay "standard" (I should add that I don't judge my rum by colour, only flavour BTW).

Is the Mezan a mixer, or best neat?

I'm probably not the person to ask tbh as I tend to like my rum neat!

I'd not have this as a mixer though I don't think. Too good and relatively pricey. If I were to use any recent rums I've had as a mixer it'd probably be Flor de Cana 5yo

Neat, Ice, limes.

Much closer to a scotch tate than a sweet rum taste. It's very good.

Picked this us from the airport in Tenerife the other day.
Very thick like a syrup and extremely sweet but an interesting bottle for the collection

No pictures, but in a hotel in Austria last week I made a significant dent in the hotel bar's bottle of Diplomatico. It was bloody lovely….

My wife bought me this back from Barbados - it's rather quaffable smile

The Mauby has an interesting taste! We brought a bottle of XO back but also wish we’d got the Mauby for the unusual flavour. Wish I was back there!

After doing 2 distillery tours in Pitlochry last weekend I somehow ended up not buying any whisky and getting a couple of bottles of rum. This one is particularly good and a £45 something different from the Diplomatic Exclusiva which is a go to for me.

Been reading good things about this on some American rum forums and enjoy and Appletons signature blend with apple juice now and again. Got some Tesco club card vouchers through so ended up getting it for nothing. Will try it at the weekend.

I bought a bottle when I visited the distillery last year.
I've not opened it, but they did let me sample a little while I was there. I was blown away.
Out of interest where did you get it and how much did you pay?
It was just over £100 at the distillery, but I believe it's nearly double that in some places.

A very good friend of mine went to the distillery and bought me a bottle as a gift. So I wouldn't be able to tell you how much (didn't ask), but he did have the bottle engraved with the date and a small message.

I regret opening mine, only because I keep wanting to have a another glass, and it might be a while until I can get another! It is far and away my favourite rum.

Woods' is only £20 on Amazon at the moment. The bottle and label have changed but the contents are the same - i.e. just as poky.
