I don't really have a particular crisp to do a certain job, but favourites are Walkers and Seabrook, S&V, beef.
Sorry to be picky, but many of the snacks mentioned are not crisps, as the OP points out, crisps are made from potatos.
Monster munch
Pringles
Wotsits
Frazzles
Bacon Fries
Quavers
Squares
Scampi fries
Hula Hoops
All fail, get your coats and bugger off.

Not my point.
Not that frazzles aren't salty enough compared to own brands, rather that the frazzles recipe changed significantly post salt revolution.
Many own brands just have weird tastes/aftertastes. Salty or not.
Ah right I see - fair dos.Not that frazzles aren't salty enough compared to own brands, rather that the frazzles recipe changed significantly post salt revolution.

Have you tried making your own?
My friend used to make his own crisps, took a few tries to get everything perfect but after that they were brilliant.

I just dug this thread back up to say I discovered Pipers crisps today and they are fantastic. We went to Theakstons Brewery and had a few
The quality of the Old Peculier was beyond belief as you would have hoped so and even though the crisps were £1 per packet they were a worthy partner.
It's such a shame this isn't a more popular drink, because most places that sell it have to hang onto it for so long it starts to go off and it's crap, this in turn probably puts people off buying it again.
Sorry gents but its game over within this post, and if you tell me I'm wrong I will tell you that you are wrong :-)
Widely available in cumbria but rarely outside but if you would like to try you can buy boxes on eBay
