What is it?
It makes a baby bottle of milk in 60 seconds. Does not sound like the most groundbreaking piece of kit but it saves so much time and stress.

Before:
Boil Kettle
Put baby milk powder in bottle
Pour in boiling water to level.
Cool bottle to baby drink temp - this take bloody ages, especially when you have a screaming baby or you want to get back to bed after feed.

Now:
Put baby milk powder in
Press button twice
Bottle ready at perfect temperature in 60 seconds.

Yes, I know it's the direct oposite, but there is no thread.

I bought this, as I am awaiting my new oven to be built: http://www.robertdyas.co.uk/giles-posner-2-ring-ho...

It can't even boil water, I can put my finger in the water after it's been on for 10 minutes.

Thanks to this thread I now have one of these and a good grips mandolin, haven't used the mandolin yet, but that garlic twist is awesome.
One of these: amazon?

Would I use this more than half a dozen times before relegating it to back of cupboard?

Th problem with a lot of the chopping gadgets is cleaning them afterwards, that is why they stay in the cupboard and I generally use a knife (apart from garlic press !).

We have the Tommy Tippee machine and it's worth it's weight in gold, especially at 3 in the morning.

A decent potato ricer is also one of my best purchases. Used it tonight and the mash was lush.

Same here, been through a load over the years and even the mandolin, which I like a lot, is never used. I have a garlic press but use the flat of a knife to whack it then chop then crush the chopped bits with the flat of the knife again.

As I understand it, the point of using boiling water is that it needs to be over 70 deg c to kill any harmful bacteria in the powder. Once you've mixed the formula up, you cool it down to the right temperature for the baby. Cold water could be added at that point to make it up to the necessary volume, as the bacteria has been killed off thanks to the initial high temps from the boiling water.

Or just do whatever makes you comfortable...

Logic is crap. So you boil water to kill bacteria, then add cold water with bacteria to it?
