Don't even bother with Ducasse its a huge let down.
Thanks for the heads up, it's amazing how these places get their stars, how is Dinner so highly rated when it's so average too?(Sorry OT)
Dinner is hit and miss but some dishes are simply amazing (tipsy cake). It's probably a good idea to just order starters and desserts and leave the mains as they're pretty ordinary.
I''ve done them all too, agree with what has been said re theatre at the Fat Duck. In my opinion Ducasse was fantastic too, great food and probaby the best service. Having been twice I'd say that despite 'only' having 2 stars Le Gavroche has the best food.
Each to their own and all that

Ducasse is fine but nothing special.
I agree that the FD is more of an event but the Waterside is better food wise.
Having been to both, am lucky enough they are only a couple of miles from where I live. Although I might one day, I don't feel the need to return to the Fat Duck, amazing though it was. I agree that the FD is more of an event but the Waterside is better food wise.
The Waterside if I could afford it would be somewhere I'd go for Sunday lunch every weekend! For me is about enjoying a very good meal, great service in a lovely ambience. I guess it's also that you have a varied menu to work through too compared to the set menu at the Fat Duck.
I wasn't that impressed with Gavroche, some food was excellent but I had to send back my dessert as it was burnt, they dealt with it well but that's not really the point. I didn't like the Souffle much but that not their fault, that's just a preference.
Service was superb but the venue is old fashioned.
I'm going to Fera on Saturday for Lunch, looking forward to that.
