Im keen to try a Picanha......
Pretty sure I've seen it in Morrisons.
They do but heavily peppered, it's alright but I tend to scrape all the pepper off before cooking and add my own seasoning.

Yep - just asked where it came from and it was Morrison’s, and it was peppered.
Wasn’t overly peppered though, as both kids ate it.

Thing is with that much pepper when you sear it on a bbq it will burn and go bitter, I'm no way averse to pepper, quite the opposite in fact.

I bought a pepper mill from the states (Unicorn Magnum 6") and it is a beast, superb adjustable mechanism in it and chucks out tonnes of pepper.

1. remove steak from fridge to warm
2. prepare starter and deliver to table
3. eat starter
4. return to kitchen see next doors cat leap of the worksurface steak in mouth
5.chase cat (queitly), corner it and retrieve steak
6. trim the chewed edges

I’d like to try one without the pepper and with a bit more fat on it.
Was very tender and carved beautifully though.

It was also quite rare as I got through the thicker part, but everyone still ate it.

Thanks very much for posting that Tony, it's really interesting to see how the animal breaks down into the different cuts, are they also available for lamb and pork and if so could you please post a link for us.
Pork retail cuts...

Lamb retail cuts...

Bear in mind this is all UK based but there is a lot of regional variation between butchers. If you're really sad like me then this is a proper guide...

Rump cap if you can get it from a butchers. I've ordered online from John Davidsons also.

Nice thick fat and lots of salt is key I think, done on a rotisserie rodizio style is amazing.

It's all horse or pets!
wink

(I know they sell horse meat too. We have it in restaurants (when open!) and supermarkets here. It's actually very good.)

I'm currently living with a couple of friends who are big foodies, sent that link saying "shall we try something new"
They were keen. I then suggested horse and it went down like a lead balloon.
I'd be keen to try horse. To be fair there's no meat I wouldn't try.

Actually that reminds me, I have a hard time finding Sucuk - spicy sausage from Turkey, Syria etc, it's made at least partially from horse meat in some contries, hence it sprung to mind. If anyone's got a decent source for that I'd appreciate if they'd share it.

HAHA, I see what you did there.

Aside from Horse, I think they'd be keen to try some of the stuff, but I think we're all put off by the price.....it's just TOO cheap! If it's rare meat, you'd think it would be costly, but this stuff is cheaper than any meat you'd find in a supermarket!

If its like the stuff my suppliers stock its all vac-pac frozen in the country of origin. Bit like Brazilian fillet steak at £16 a kilo.
