Hi all,

I took the week off for half term, soon got bored, so made some strawberry gin as per the recipe here http://uktv.co.uk/food/recipe/aid/658456

Question: I was always lead to believe that the alcohol was absorbed by the fruit.

Have I just managed to de-alcoholise (if that isn't a real word, it should be) a bottle of gin, and throw the alcohol laden strawberrys in the bin?

Ive made raspberry vodka before and once the raspberrys were removed the vodka was certainly still strong drunk

And what would happen if you had put the strawberries through a juicer?

We've made sloe gin for years and believe me there is still alcohol after you remove the sloes!

tbh they looked rather anaemic after three days in gin, so juicing them wasn't really an option.

We've had a couple this evening and tbh, whilst it tasted lovely, it was kind of like that 'alcohol' that you get on all-inclusive holidays, if you know what I mean...
