Hi all

Mrs PR always used to buy frozen sweetcorn. Very handy to keep in and I like it in chillies. Recently it seems to have disappeared and be replaced by super sweetcorn. What's the difference and will I notice the flavour?

My money is on Super Sweet. Because the nation just isn't fat enough already.

Do let us know.

I definitely prefer super sweet sweetcorn — both frozen & tinned.

We grow our own, unbelievably good, doesn't even need cooking

Sweetcorn needs to be eaten young, and within a few hours of being picked, else the sugars will turn into starch.

I'd imagine the 'supersweet' varieties have either been bred or genetically modified to circumvent this process.

I'm sure you're right just seems odd. Tinned seems to be std and frozen super sweet.

I always find tinned tastes better than frozen. Although on the cob is better than either.
