Look out for special offers at your supermarket. Mine were doing a deal buy two 4 packs of Carling and get a free glass. I think I have 5 or six
They look like this
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Carling-Pint-Glass/dp/B009...
Also when you go to a beer festival you buy your glass on the way in and use it all day tasting/drinking beer. Take it home and you have a nice straight glass with a remnder of your day
I've just bought that glass so thanks or the link. I've never been to a beer festival as whenever the one in my town in on I'm always working. I might see when it's on then see if I can get the day off work. They look like this

That was only an example to show what it was like. If you can cancel it, here is 4 for £12.20 or just nick one from a pubhttp://www.amazon.co.uk/Carling-Pint-Glasses-20oz-...

Carling?!
Yes, Carling as I quite like the design. The important thing is I don't drink Carling.soad said:

Must admit treated myself to some of these http://www.waterford.co.uk/drinkware/by-collection... and find them very nice for drinking beer (as opposed to the assorted variety of pint glasses we have)
I like those. But for £25 a glass I'd want free refills.I recently broke my favourite beer quaffing glass; an old Caffrey's pint+ straight. Slightly oversized to accommodate the lively head of the original Caffrey's nitrokeg draught, it was perfect for taking an imperial pint.
I've got another 60-odd old / odd / rare beer glasses to choose from, but nothing I'd want to press into regular service

It seems my memory was wrong as I bought the Carlsberg glass not the Carling glass, also it was the Carlsberg glass I preferred the look of. I did have a look at bigger glass specifically this one http://www.amazon.co.uk/Giant-Beer-Glass-Holds-Pin... but then I thought it might be too heavy to lift just for a casual drink.
I've also looked to see when the local beer festival is and found out it was a few weeks ago so no luck there, I also found out that the Sussex beer festival was 2 weeks ago so it looks like I won't be able to go to a beer festival till next year.

I recently got one of these from Ikea, it's a really nice solid glass and only cost a quid, holds 630ml.

2. This one is a sad momento of when they closed down my local pub. I assure you I did my best to keep it open.
I still have a very similar one after my old drinking hole got closed for refurb - and was promptly ruined. That was about 1989 and is probably the only glass my wife hasn't managed to break yet! All my beer festival & folk festival (not a lot of difference tbh!) special glasses have met their doom in the washing up bowl...
