From the 'ethnic' part of the freezer section at Asda: Punjabi samosas, imported from India.

These are more like spicy Cornish pasties as the dough's pretty solid, but you can cook them in the oven rather than having to deep fry.

Quality control seems to be a bit remiss as occasionally you get a *really* hot one. nuts

If you like samosas and cannot be bothered to make your own, find an Indian sweet centre. If it is located near competition you can usually buy 100 for around £15.those will be freshly made and unfried.a little more for ready to eat.

Cheese savories. Sainsburys tesco and morrispoons do them. I can't get enough and they are entirely to blame for my late 30s self not fitting into my early 30s stuff.

But I don't care. Bowlful of these a few beers and life is good.

Smoked salmon scraps - approx £1.40 from Tesco and Asda (other supermarkets may do them too). Perfect for making risotto.

They're know as sweepings and best avoided for that reason.

Is there anything good from Asda or Tescos or Morrisons etc. that you just can't get enough of? For example I really like Tesco's Chocolate Croissants, is there anything else anyone recommends? Own brand of course, or at least something none of the other supermarkets do.
Whilst mooching in Sainsburys I discovered their chilled soups (rather than tinned) in the 600g plastic tubs. I can highly recommend their own brand Taste The Difference Jamaican Jerk Spiced Chicken soup ("Jamaican jerk spiced peppers, black turtle beans, British chicken and rice soup") and also the Moroccan Spiced Chicken & Chickpea soup. They're not what you'd really expect from a soup as they're quite thick so more of a meal soup. They are very very nice though lick. Their own brand Chicken & Vegetable broth is good too.

yes

The M&S spicy schechuan pork udon noodles are extremely good. If you wok fry them rather than microwave you will get a dish far superior to takeaway chow mien.

Tesco finest Thai sweet chilli stir-fry sauce. Surprisingly similar to the real thing and very, very nice.

New one for you all: me and the Mrs have been importing a certain BBQ sauce from the states for years, we actually found a source in Dubai that was importing and selling it also so we were importing it from both sides of the world at one point! It's the best BBQ sauce we have ever tried.

Cue our surprise when the Mrs saw it sitting on a shelf in Sainsbury last week. It's called "Sweet Baby Ray's" BBQ Sauce, there are 3 different variants. I've just found out that Tesco also has it after looking at the following marketing site:

http://www.sweetbabyrays.co.uk/

Would be interested to hear anyone's feedback that tries it!

I'm not sure takeaway Chow Mien is much of a benchmark.

So which variant would you recommend?

Well, have you ever had Chow Mien in a good Chinese restaurant? It's a world away from the watery rubbish you get from a takeaway. The takeaways around here anyway.
