mixed lamb and chicken doner from todays lunch. (yes i know there's salad, but i do like my salad). their chili sauce sucks unfortunately, not hot at all, doesn't bring anything.
Amateurs. Chili sauce has to be the easy bit, even if you bulk buy.
It's their own made stuff. thankfully it's not the jarred stuff that's got tons of vinegar, I hate those. Having said that I do sometimes smother my 'bab and the salad with encona sauce, siriracha doesn't suit it (better suited to fried chicken imo). There is another takeaway who's 'babs are inferior (but greasier) and they have their own made chilli sauce that is painfully hot, it's given me trouble in the past! I posted them afew pages back on july 20th. They do have the benifit of cooking the doner a 2nd time on the flat griddle with onions & chili sauce which is one of the best things to do to doner meat.

Maybe buy some chili flakes to sprinkle on as needed? Looks good otherwise.

Dear Dirty Takeaway Thread,

I will find myself in Skelton on Cleveland, near Middlesbrough, this weekend, Can you recommend any establishments, in the direct vicinity or in Middlesbrough? I am particularly keen to sample the delights of an authentic Parmo. Naturally, the results will be available to view here, post event.

Sopranos Parmesan House on Wilson Street near Middlesbrough Train Station

Ask for a Full Hotshot Parmesan with Garlic and Chilli Sauce!
Or a bit further south (in a much better location); the Runswick Bay Hotel does a cracking Parmo Hotshot.
Got distracted and we had a Chinese. I got my mates to pick me up a dish of their choosing and ended up with a moo shu chicken "with fungus". Parmo to follow later

Ok. To edit a double post: As recommended, not only by this thread but by some local lasses, a full hotshot parmo from sopranos. Eta can't upload. Will try tomorrow.

It was everything I had hoped for and more. My mate loved it so much he chose to taste the bits he had tried twice.

Had a great time at Teesside karting, but in retrospect 11am was a touch early for 20mins of practice followed by a 45 minute race. I feel the parmo held me back...

cheese on kebab is so wrong. I would not be happy to have that much sauce on a kebab. looks like they cut up the doner meat into rather small slices too, I like it in ridiculously long strips!

I know what a parmo is, I was referring to the kebab nation/LADBible post above it.

Fell off the diet a bit on Friday- mixed doner and chili sauce, but didn't all eat the pitta so didn't feel too bad.

mixed kebabs can really vary. Sometimes its a regular pitta with a token ammount of doner / shish / chicken ( shish or doner ) and maybe a kofta if you are lucky.

sometimes its a 11 inch square trough full of meat.

this came with a side portion of chips and additional Turkish wraps which I was unable to do justice to. The use of a wrap as a liner to the tin was quite inventive.

little to eat all day and I knew I was coming home to an empty fridge.
Got the munchies on the way home. Initially thought of getting a dirty kebab but the elephants leg had been switched off and it looked all yucky and cold.
So took the 'safe' option and got some chicken pakora. I had barely finished it and my stomach is already making those 'what the hell have you done to me' noises.
