Second entry for me in a week, weather is grim and nothing in the cupboards so a kebab was the order of the day, tasted good!

It's worth a detour.

Does lamb chops, chicken on/off bone, a nice looking chicken and rice dish but the Kobedah always calls me.

Two places on the curry mile within a hundred yards or so with a similar menu, one very much a Chippy with a few chairs, one a bit more like a cafe Restaurant. The Chippy was dishing up the same stuff when I lived there in the 1980s!

Then finish the night off with a shisha pipe if that is your thing.
If you want to sit down, try Jaffa (bit further along the Mile) - their mixed shawarma and fatayer are fantastic (and about £3.50). They also do really good mezze.

I’m sitting here in a KFC drive-thru queue which is far too long, but my boys are insisting and the other option is to cook or to go to McDonald’s.

Looks like we’re going for 6 piece variety bucket.

Or rag your car up and down the road a few times to fit in. Not been down to Wimmy Rd for dinner for a while. I’m still annoyed that Al Quds no longer exists.

Grabbed a prematch mixed donner from Venus in Leeds yesterday -

Yup, doesn’t really qualify as a dirty takeaway. Good amount of fat in the meat though, adds a decent amount of flavour.

To address the balance here’s a chicken donner and chips from earlier this week -

Shovelled it onto a fresh naan.

I've been in hospital and despite the food being pretty decent I was craving some filth tonight. Back to an old favourite, the 3/4lb burger with cheese and onion rings (oddly named the "Italian"). Under £5 with fries and surprisingly decent despite the budget ingredients.

Ouch, not good to hear. Burger looks decent, hopefully it doesn’t put you back into hospital!

probably some kinda piri piri/paprika spice. not many places do it. only 1 of my local fried chicken shops have it and i quite like it. coincidentally their hot wings are the best and (almost) taste the same as KFC..... although I'd take an actual 'hot' wing over it any day. it seems places these days don't had chili to their hot wings and actually make it hot. so boring!!

That was my addition, it's Schwartz chip seasoning, mainly paprika but also onion and garlic, just makes things a bit more interesting. I got a big tub of it from Costco.

One of our local takeaways were going to KFC and purchasing £100 of frozen hot wings and selling them for a profit lol.

80% of Schwartz chip seasoning (and similar in Nando’s) is salt with all the spice flavourings making up the other 20%. Leads to a huge salt intake because most people would never put that much salt on fries but you need that quantity to get a good hit of chip seasoning.

The pic would indicate that it's just under 50% salt.

Was out with my lad last night so stopped for a late night kebab on the way home.
Rusholme Chippy was full so went to Afghan Cuisine about 100 yards down the road.

Double kobedah and nan. The meat was lovely as was the nan. Salad an afterthought and sauces not as nice as the Chippy.

Plus you get a plate.

Worth a try.
Oh my.

Want.
Not dirty enough for this tread, but i have to agreed with Roper
Not dirty enough!!?!?? Looks like something my mate Joel blocked the university toilets up with....... except his was grey due to his diet consisting only of basmati rice and Embassy fags.

Yeah it is in that one. My point was that in the quantity people layer it on its massively increasing the amount of salt over what you would put on say ordinary fish and chips. Not that it matters with all the salt, fat, saturated, grease and questionable meat content that make up a fantastic dirty take away anyway hehe

was always a fan of chip spice , until her indoors came back from farmfoods with a new one to try. called red salt, a south african chip spice that comes in a big pack for next to nothing and better than the origional chip spice too. goes on everything nowadays its fantastic.
