If you take a photo on an iPhone with the home button at the bottom it will appear on forums etc on its side. When displayed on the phone the phone auto rotates it. To take a photo that is orientated correctly you should hold the phone with the home button on the right hand side. This has been an issue with iPhone for ages as they are designed from a software point of view to take photos in that orientation and use the single button which would now be on the top as the button to take the pic. It hasn’t been updated since the button became soft on the screen.
