I know it’s against the spirit of the rules but bugger, had a drive up to Bakewell last week as the girlfriend wanted a Bakewell tart or 3... seemed rude not to have a pub lunch while there. I highly recommend The Wheatsheaf if ever you’re there... £17 including a pint of Warsteiner but god it was good!

That looks incredibly underwhelming, overcooked and somewhat miserly for the money.

people posting pics of them eating in a restaurant or bar is kinda getting on my nerves. this is takeaway thread. it should be food not eaten on the premises of purchase, so eaten at home, or work, or in your car/van etc.

There are 3 other threads

breakfast photo thread
lunch photo thread
dinner photo thread

too many people posting pub food, 'posh junk' or even nice kebab/turkish grill food in here, there are plenty of people posting pics of their restaurant foods in the above threads.

+1

This is a thread I pop into to tut and shake my head at the posters for having actually paid money for it. smile

Go away people with food with any nutritious value, or not sat in their boxers drunk at home. Go post on Instagram or something.

I think I may have posted this before but this should get us back on track.

Breakfast for £5.00 I’d already eaten half of it.

I don't think any chilled out thread should end up getting policed by the capricious. Post what you want in the spirit of the thread, other threads are full of Bain Marie and other such pretentious.

I guess this proves that there isn’t a subject that some PHers won’t take too seriously smile.

Those complaining about the content need to post some content that meets their standards to back up their rants, in my eyes a photo of food to be discussed amongst my takeaway enthusiast peers is a bonus, I don't care if it's served on the left nipple of a washed virgin in a space ship and eaten with a pair of chopsticks whittled from the bones of Jesus, post away people.

Then be ready for a critique on your choice of plate, cutlery, boxer shorts or duvet cover.

Must be a northern thing that, they get all the good takeaway delights. damnit.

I think it was I who posted a takeaway picture of a 'dirty' dinner in a diner. It was a dirty meal, that I wanted to share along side the impressive menu. It's sad to think people are so concerned over the content based on the title, otherwise we'd end up with 'takeaways but on a plate eaten with a knife and fork' thread.

"Dirt" is relative, I think my absolutely amazing burgers from Almost Famous are utter filth because of what's in them and how messy they make my hands, beard and table but in reality they are incredibly hygienic. Burger purists would be aghast at them though.

The whitebait above, that's my idea of pure grime, I have an aversion to fish, if it has bones, eyes, skin etc too that's just an affront to humanity. That's before we get into how uniform they all look, like they have come out of a bag in the freezer and garnished with green to make them look nicer. To others they are pleasurable treat and I respect that.

Who really cares if things stray a little, just come back at something you don't like with something that's utter slime in a polystyrene box.... or be a filth voyeur, don't contribute and then whinge when things aren't to your standards.

It's just food, chill.

Reported. Purely for the fact that I’d managed to get it out of my head and now it’s back.

Not strictly filth but Subway are doing Sub of the Day again for £2.50. Just had the Meat Feast (meatballs, pepperoni and ham) and it was very nice.
