Yea I think so too but I can’t help thinking that the old ones would have been fine if they had cooked them long enough at the right temperature and in small batches. Wonder how long until back to their old ways and the new ones become limp and served cold because they cook loads when they are not busy SpeckledJim said:
KFC must have the largest difference between expected brilliance and awful execution.
I often think "God I could kill for a KFC" (usually when driving past a billboard) yet so often it's just total rubbish. I only go perhaps twice a year, and reckon half the time I regret it.
Agree. The new fries the first couple of times were great.... crispy and hot. I’ve been twice since and got limp and cold just like the old ones.I often think "God I could kill for a KFC" (usually when driving past a billboard) yet so often it's just total rubbish. The gravy varies in consistency... literally from light brown water to dark brown sludge
The size of the chicken pieces is getting pathetic and it annoys me if the meal has hot wings for instance and then get a wing piece. My last meal was a three piece meal and they were all drumsticks. I took it back.
It can’t be hard to cook fries and cook them long enough and In small enough batches for them to be crispy and hot. They could have done that with the old ones.
I often wonder what the original food was like back in the day of the colonel and what he would think if he walked into one now.

With KFC I've noticed over the years that the wings are sometimes massive, amost as big as a normal piece of chicken, sometimes it's coated with a crazy amount of breadcrumbs too. I like it though.
As for the chips, i always liked their thick/chunky chips that they always had up until they decided to start changing it around. I don't I used to love KFC and felt it was the best option between the blandness of McDs and the expensive price of Burger King. now everything is so expensive.. 99p for 2 wings is ridiculous (10yrs ago you'd get 4 wings for that price).
My favourites were the zinger tower burger and Twister. however it seems like both aren't as big or as tasty anymore. twister feels like it's lacking in ingredients and the zingerr tower just doesnt feel as big.
2 weeks back I ate some kfc (just the chicken), it left my lips feeling weird for afew days, much like when you eat salt and vinegar crissps and it destroys your lips.

KFC is the worst of the big fast food chains, no consistency at all and the thought of eating is always better than the reality.
gravy is the worst when it comes to consistency. one day it's runny like water, the next day it's thick like mayonnaise (i prefer it thick)ambuletz said:

I love a nice bit of fried chicken, but usually can't be bothered with the faff of the skin and bones and tendons and the like.
I also love a skewer of grilled chicken in a kebab.
So why don't takeaways use the cubed chicken they prepare for the kebabs, then bung the KFC type coating on it, and deep fry it? That would be the best combination of flavour, format and method, IMO.
A big valuebox of that type of chicken, doner meat, chips and salad is what I want, what I really really want.

I'd guess because frying chicken makes the oil in the fryer minging so they wouldn't be able to use them for anything else, most kebab shops don't have many fryers.
They fry chicken in the oil all the time, but it's on the bone. I'd like them to fry it in cubes, so no difference in that regard.BrabusMog said:

why not just get the boneless pieces? or the boneless banquet box etc..I love a nice bit of fried chicken, but usually can't be bothered with the faff of the skin and bones and tendons and the like.
