KFC must have the largest difference between expected brilliance and awful execution.
I often think "God I could kill for a KFC" (usually when driving past a billboard) yet so often it's just total rubbish. I only go perhaps twice a year, and reckon half the time I regret it.
This. Every time. I think KFC need to get the people who run McDs and pay them a lot more.I often think "God I could kill for a KFC" (usually when driving past a billboard) yet so often it's just total rubbish. I only go perhaps twice a year, and reckon half the time I regret it.

I don’t partake in this thread due to my constant fight with my ever expanding waist, but I do regularly browse to laugh at the quantity some of you lot put away
Just out of interest are any of you noticing Chinese takeaways vanishing where you are? We had three good ones in our village up until recently, but the last one closed today, they said they’d been priced out of business due to sky high rents. We still have 2 Indians and a Kebab/Pizza/Burger emporium for after pub goodies when the munchies strike.

I suspect card / online sales have a big part to play. Cheap food is great but when the profit margins are slim a lot of these places relied on the fact they paid little in the way of tax and NI (not saying I agreed with that but that was a genuine business model they used in the 80s, 90s and even early 2000s). These days its virtually impossible to run a business like that and that's probably having a big impact.Just out of interest are any of you noticing Chinese takeaways vanishing where you are? Deep fried Christmas dinner, in a Scottish chippy because of course it is. £10. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-scotland-bu...

I know of a few cash only takeaways that still exist. Some of them don’t do deliveries either but still manage to get decent custom.Much like Uber causing tax issues for taxi drivers the likes of Just Eat have caused issues for those takeaway owners who liked to cook their books.

It's like Beer Shame, which is happening increasingly often as I get older.

Thanks, I'll be adopting this.

It seems a recurring theme with KFC because my mates all feel the same way; "mmm, I really fancy KFC". *5 minutes after eating it* "That was st and I feel like st, never again!". A year later "mmm, I fancy KFC"...It's like Beer Shame, which is happening increasingly often as I get older.
It probably explains why they're never that busy, those people who are in there are just making their annual pilgrimage to be reminded that it's st.
Also, not to be confused with 'McDonalds Remorse' which works along the lines of "I'm still hungry, why didn't I buy more!"

It's my hope that the adoption by small retailers of the myriad card payment solutions will eventually kill off the awful businesses (takeaways, corner shops) who either don't accept card or have a ridiculous minimum spend.Much like Uber causing tax issues for taxi drivers the likes of Just Eat have caused issues for those takeaway owners who liked to cook their books.
When the bloke who delivers a small trolley of brownies to our office on a Friday can take contactless payment for a £2 brownie, there's no excuse for the crappy corner shop telling me I need to spend £10 before I can use a card to buy a bottle of water.

No power last night until 3am. Child that required feeding. Couldn’t be arsed to break out the camping gear or light the bbq. KFC boneless box between 3 of us. BBQ beans and gravy.
It was pretty good, if not hugely healthy.
