Why is it impossible to find a decent toaster ?

Does the new toaster allow you to "Lift &. Look" function that allows you to check whatever you are toasting midway through, without having to stop the toaster, check, then restart (and end up burning you toast if you forget to turn the dial down).
Mine does that you can just lift the toast and move it round if you like and then drop it back down again without cancellingjesusbuiltmycar said:

Yes it does, the icing on the cake. For a non brand toaster, it's very good.craigjm said:
Yeah but for the few seconds it takes to switch on a proper toaster those things toast really poorly
Thats only because the conveyor speed has been set wrong, or the person before you has adjusted it. Normally they are set too slow meaning you have to pop your bread back in, and then it comes out burnt. Nobody ever thinks to adjust the setting. When set right they are brill.LeadFarmer said:

It's refreshing to see one loaded efficiently rather than the one after the other spaced out diagonal slices with a croissant chaser you know is going to get stuck, set on fire and set the smoke alarms off. They're not perfect but I agree they can do a decent job when set correctly (although I like my toast lightly done so may be an easy sell).

All that stress and anger......suppressed, naturally, because we are British.

OMG you must have been in that Gretna Hotel on the way to the NC500 that morning when Mr 'I want it hot and crispy' did just that!!! Apologies. But no one should serve cold croissants or offer to microwave them. Smack em down a bit, load them on the conveyor and leg it!!!They're not perfect but I agree they can do a decent job when set correctly (although I like my toast lightly done so may be an easy sell).

The best toaster I ever had is 4 slice British Dualit - £150 or so but it's the most even toasting. And you can DIY change the filaments when they bust and get a new timer. The future is British made!!!

I kept my cool and merely stood there waiting rather than tutting rudely.
