The 46 is lovely. They also send a lot of cask to Laphroaig too.

Your picture of the new Dragon Legend from HP piqued my interest, never seen it before, so it would have been rude not to pick one up. I'll let you know what I think at the weekend...

I have just finsihed going through these during my holiday back in the UK.

All very nice but the Glenmorangie was outstanding. The Belvinie was also very nice but certainly not worth the price and the Ardbeg was up there with some of the other Committee bottlings but just lacked that certain kick that makes the Supernovas, Corrywrecken, and the 1977 really, really good whiskies.

Some lovely bottles there krallicious! Did you pay for 6, or get 2 free?
Sorry, I have only just seen this. I payed for 4 and they sent 6. I'm not sure why but I'm not going to complain....

Evening all.

A fair while ago I tried a taster bottle of Bowmore’s 15 year old Darkest whisky. I really enjoyed it so purchased a large bottle. Unfortunately the bottle didn’t live up to expectations. It was nice, and it had promise, but it didn’t quite hit the spot.

I was talking to a chap in a whisky store, who recommended that I try the Bowmore 15 Laimrig offering which is cask strength, and just a tad more expensive than the Darkest. It’s everything that I was hoping the other bottle would be. It’s lovely. Full of fruit and bonfire smoke. Lovely!

Hang on there........

It does have a certain salty tang and on its own is a very good whisky but for me, it doesn't quite hit the hights of some other Ardbeg bottlings.

Says you drinking your weak fruit smoothies, biggrin

Think I managed to get the 19yo Ledaig and 25yo Rosebank single casks from Cadenheads today. Others seem to have emails if there was not enough, and I have not got one of those emails!

Went into Tesco this week to pick up a bottle of the new HP Dragon Legend, well they had the Glenmorangie Lasanta on special at £35, rude not to pick up a bottle of that too...

My mother just called to tell me she has found a bottle of whisky at home and could I find out anything about it. So I thought you guys might be able to advise...

It's a 1977 Queens Silver Jubilee antiquary 35 year old in a decorative 13.5 fluid ounce bottle.

It's sealed with wax but there is no box. I haven't seen it but it sounds interesting.
Google shows similar 70cl. bottles but nothing fits the bill exactly.

Any ideas?

Who bottled it? Who was the distiller?
Would make life a bit easier if you can find out.

Weird, I had a hosted a whisky tasting/games evening last night with some mates and one of my friends brought half a bottle of that round with him. It was good, nice a smooth for a cask strength whisky, but ultimately unremarkable.

I quite fancy having a go at the Amarone or Madeira next.

It was in South Queensferry but I will find out as much as I can. Is Antiquary a specific blend or something generic? Thanks in advance.

As mentioned it helps with pictures! Antiquary is owned by the Tomatin distillery company. Could be difficult to get info if it is so old as blends are a lot less documented online in my limited experience of them.

I do like a good guessing game. Doesn't ring any bells at though. As others have said, if you can post a picture we might be able to be a little more helpful.
