OOOOHHHHHH didn't know that existed!! Is it export only?
Nor did I.Yes, it's a travel retail only that went on sale June last year according to the Workd of Whisky bloke.
I did try it, but 5.45am wasn't the best time for a review, but nice enough to buy a bottle for the week away.

I presume you know about the Peat Week releases for general purchase? It's hardly any peat though - not sure if that is what you are looking for.

Thanks NRS I wasn't aware of this, I like the Balvenie and am a big fan of peated whisky, I think I'll treat myself to a bottle.
Currently enjoying Cardhu gold reserve, Famous Grouse bourbon cask, which I must say at first taste is like having a lump of vanilla fudge in your mouth and as always my obligatory bottle of Kilchoman Machir Bay!!!

I liked it, but as I said don't expect much peat. Probably the least "peaty" peated whisky I have had,
Just recently moved after 5 years, so finally have a whisky club I can attend! Was there a few days ago for a Bruichladdich distillery tasting.
First up was Rockside Islay Barley from 2007, followed by Bere Barley 2008. Next up was 2 Port Charlotte private casks for some people here in Norway. Both from 2002, at 10yo. One of the left a refill sherry hogshead, the one on the right bourbon. They thought there was a mix up due to the colours, but apparently it seemed there was a leak in the bourbon cask, at some unknown date, and they effectively transferred it into the nearest available cask, which happened to be a wine cask - so it ended up a unknown length of time wine cask finish! Finished off with the Port Charlotte 10, and the 2nd release of Octomore 10. Have to say I enjoyed Octomore 10 more than the previous one I have had - had more going on rather than just massive peat. Favourite for the group and myself was the Port Charlotte ex-sherry private cask.
Also had these arrive a week or so ago from Japan. First releases from the Akkeshi distillery, which aims to have a Islay type whisky. However the first one is non-peated. There will be 3 more releases before they start releasing whisky. The tax was more than the bottles, :'(

Sorry - I misread the post. My mistake.
No worries, done it plenty of times myself! Just recently moved after 5 years, so finally have a whisky club I can attend! Was there a few days ago for a Bruichladdich distillery tasting.

Heads Up - Laphroaig Quater Cask is currently £32 a bottle in Waitrose - I believe it is a clearance sale...
Quater Cask is one of my favourite Islays and at £32 is very good value - I bought a bottle of Laphroaig Lore for £57 from a Amazon a couple of days ago and although it is very nice, INHO it is not worth the £25 over a bottle of Quarter Cask.

I agree, also bought the Lore, and it's OK, but for me personally doesn't have the clout of the Quarter Cask.Quater Cask is one of my favourite Islays and at £32 is very good value - I bought a bottle of Laphroaig Lore for £57 from a Amazon a couple of days ago and although it is very nice, INHO it is not worth the £25 over a bottle of Quarter Cask.
My favourite currently though is the PX Cask, which is lovely. Not an every day dram at that price though,
