I couldn't help buying this a few days ago too - £60 quid for a 23yo sherried whisky is a bargain no matter the distillery/bottler these days surely?

Dammit, you just cost me £60. https://www.whiskybroker.co.uk/70cl,-23yo-distille...

Gutted to be tpying this. I managed to smash my 47 year old single cask Glenfarclas on Saturday morning. The thought still makes me sick - I am hoping glenfarclas will send me a bottle as a good will gesture ....
Weird. I did exactly the same with my bottle last night - we have the same floor tiles and cabinets too.Hope your email reaches them before mine does...

If that happened to me I'd be picking glass out of my tongue for weeks. #thirtysecondruleLaurasOtherHalf said:
Photos of the bottle or it didn’t happen! In all seriousness, if this is not some sort of welshbeef jackanory you have my sympathies.
Surely you have some sort of insurance however?
If funny you say that because I did think that myself, however, I very much doubt my insurance company would cover "accidental idiotness" Surely you have some sort of insurance however?
Saw this Balvenie Tun 1509 Batch 5 online.
Very hard to get a hold of and they are offering free shipping in the UK...

Oh Mr Trophy, you do indeed have my sympathies.
The cork however looks to have been out so at least you had some (please tell me you had some!)? I think the bottle of the '66 Fino that my friends sold went for £1000 but there does seem to be others for less.
Commiseration's buddy.
I've maybe had about 6 to 8 decent sized nips out of it - still plenty to go. Absolutely nightmare indeed, it's definitely the last time I will be cleaning the cupboards out that's for sure! Just seen this is 60.8%
Given 60% is the max allowed into Norway before it becomes drugs I am hoping I don't get caught with it - although they never seem to check when you declare the full 5l of spirits quota. I think they assume anyone needing the remortgage on their house for the taxes on that will be honest, 30yo Glenlivet from 1976 for me tonight. The instant you open the bottle you know it is sherry.
Nose: sherry, a little smoke (not peated), coffee, pears, oranges.
Taste: chocolate, more coffee beans, with pepper, oak and bitter oranges to finish. More grassy with a drop of water.
Overall a very enjoyable dram if you want a big heavy malt, but not into the exceptional.
