Ain’t it just incredible the amount of nonsense you can tell your wife and she believes you.... take 2!
I got a free one provided by the company... just don't look at my bank statement?!? LeighW said:

How do they even get something so old and yet so high in alcohol still given the angel share per year? Or is this me misunderstanding the concept of proof?
Actually, that's a very good point. IIRC, casks are generally filled at around 63-64%, and the angel's share can be between 0.5 and 2% per year depending on the barrel type and the storage conditions. I think the 'share per year' decreases over time, but even so it does seem to be pushing the limits of what's possible. Edit - here's an 11 year old at 66.2%, so presumable filled at still strength, which google tells me can be between 60 and 75%. Every day's a school day!

Nah, do it.
The man from UPS has been. If this is decent and there are any left I think I'll grab another.

I am not much of a water man, but, two drops of water into that - for £60 quid , it’s an absolute steal IMO - of course.
It's an absolute bargain, wish I'd bought two. I generally like a touch of water with my whisky, but having tried it with and without, I actually prefer it neat. Weird eh? It won't last long, I know that much.Phew, seems like it's a decent whisky! Was worried when everyone bought one!
Just been on the Cadenheads Warehouse Tasting. Speaking of bargins, this surely has to be pretty decent - 7 whiskies for I think £30 quid? Started with a 25yo Strathmill. The best Strathmill I have had - nearly too oaky, but overall very nice. Had a 18yo Bunnahabhain after, lightly peated and a pleasant drink. Following that a 29yo Strathcylde grain whisky - very nice, but a bit short on the finish. Apparently someone in the past had said it was very nice, then when they found out it was a grain whisky threw it on the floor and said they don't drink grains! Moved on to a 6yo Paul John from India, overall nice. Glen Scotia next, at 17yo. Loads of toffee on the nose. The taste was a bit more dirty, which knocked it off being one to buy (for me). Longrow 11yo Bourbon cask up next, which I bought a bottle of. We got a "bonus" dram of a mystery 9yo Islay whisky, which we worked out to be Lagavulin and "got" confirmation without getting confirmation, Seems like they have mostly bourbon now, due to the expense of sherry casks. But a very enjoyable tasting I can recommend.
I had been in the Cadenheads shop earlier in the day, and decided to wait to see if they got anything extra in the cage tomorrow. During the tasting I realised the "google" internet time of 9am opening can't be right due to licencing laws, so I'd have to go back today as I have Springbank tour from 10am tomorrow (I have paid for Glengyle/Kilkierren too, but apparently don't have time as the tour is 1.5 hours, not including tasting, and I need to get 11:30 bus to reach Aberdeen in time). So had to buy today. When going in to buy Longrow they had a few new cage bottles with sherry casks, so I got a 16yo sherry Springbank and Longrow,

Nice! I tend to find I notice the higher ABV in bourbon compared to sherry bombs/peated whisky. Enjoy!Just been on the Cadenheads Warehouse Tasting. Not tried it yet!
Did the Springbank tour on Tuesday morning, good fun to see the bottling and floor malting, which I've not seen on a distillery tour before (that is properly used, rather than show). Our group was pretty quiet though overall. Had a few minis I opened with a good friend last night.
Arrived in Speyside at lunch. Went to the Speyside cooperage to see casks being made, which was new again for me. Then dropped by Highlander Inn for a dram or two... I suspect some of you would love the Springbank 22yo SCOMA bottling - it's as black as night! Also has a Shinshu/Mars bottling, my first Glenlossie, and the latest HP single cask for some Scottish bars. Finished off the day at the Mash Tun in Aberlour and had the Allt-A-Bhainne Murray MacDavid festival bottling from this year. Loads of burnt toffee!

Enjoy! This ones for drinking, so that I can keep my other three.
I might regret this, but there's another in Belgium for sensible money if you two want to fight over it. Someone on FB helped me find mine via Wine Searcher, so I'm passing the goodwill on. You might need to use Google's Dutch>English translator though.
