Yeah I spotted that and then read their reviews that said they take money for non stock items and it's a pain getting it back. Can't be done with the risk when there's no paypal checkout. Thanks for looking though mate appreciate it

Has anyone tried suntory toki japanese whisky? (pic below).
I have a really nice bottle of whisky my friend bought me years ago, but i'm saving that for a good occasion. I kind of feel like buying this. £30 for 70cl, so costs more than most of the whisky you'll find in the supermarket.
Would it be wrong of me to drink it highball style the way the japanese do? Where i'm originally born johnny walker is the main whisky, pretty much everyone will drink red or black label on ice with water or carbonated water.

My daughter is in the military and just came back from the Falklands with a limited edition bottle of Hunter Laing Old & Rare only available from the NAAFI in either Ascension or Falkland Islands for me for Christmas.
Looks stunning in a lovely wooden box and numbered certificate.
Trying to search on the interweb - I find information about the distillery but not the specific bottle.
Anyone have any knowledge about this whiskey ?
Cheers

They are bottlers and blenders, there will be more info on the bottle from whence it came. I’d is it part of this 30+ year old series? https://hunterlaing.com/2019/10/hunter-laing-launc...Looks stunning in a lovely wooden box and numbered certificate.

Nikka Coffey Malt is currently my 'go to' whisky in the cabinet. It's just sooo nice. Not the most complex whisky you'll find and it is NAS, but it's just lovely - fruity, bit of spice, very very moreish! Plus, it's only about £50. Bargain!
Purchases on the last month or so:
Bought this after trying it at the Good Food Show, a tasty peated speysider for about £40.

Nice! Have you tried the Starward yet? I'm hopefully visiting the distillery in a month, but saw they are going to do a big expansion so not sure if it will be open then,
I haven't opened it yet. I tried it at Dramfest last month, which is why I bought a bottle, but I must admit I was 'a few drams in' at that point, so it will be interesting to see if it's as nice as I remember it being! As I remember, it was quite easy drinking, quite fruity (as in red fruits), with a slightly peppery finish. Don't hold me to that though... LeighW said:

I bought the 'Old Ballantruan' quite a few years ago, excellent value.Purchases on the last month or so:

I've just picked up the Tomatin Decades II, but not opened yet, have you tried it yet?

Fruity should make sense with the red wine casks they use! Got something a little different today... malt vinegar made partly with Highland Park malt, and matured in sherry casks. Wonder how it will actually taste!

I think it might make your chips taste funny! Back from our annual pre-Christmas weekend in Edinburgh. Sampled quite a few - including enjoying a couple of cheese platters at the Amber Whisky Bar - the whisky shop there has comedic prices, but the bar is pretty reasonable.
Took a stroll down to Cadenheads on the Royal Mile, bought these two back (plus an extra Glenrothes for a mate).
After trying the Glen Garioch Virgin Oak, bought a bottle from Royal Mile Whiskies. It may be NAS, but I really like it; quite sweet and spicey, a lovely dram (appeals to my taste anyway).
Finally, picked up a bottle of Glendronach's travel exclusive 16 in the airport (for my mate again). He does pay me, I'm not that generous.
