Pizza Oven Thread
Discussion
I received my Roccbox last Friday and was really disappointed that the gas burner is faulty as it is not directing the flame towards the center like it should. I read somewhere in this thread that the first units were faulty and it was reported last year but seems like they are still sending out faulty units. Really bummed out!

Loads of owners and Roccbox themselves on there, might be an easy fix. I remember seeing people having the issue and fixing it themselves - otherwise if you send back the burner I'm sure Roccbox will send you a replacement.

Thanks for the tips, they made our first attempt go fairly well.
I've been using one for the past 12 months, just about to start using an Uuni i was bought for my birthday.
My tips:
-If you can hand stretch, do this - makes the base have more air bubbles which is good
-Find a simple dough recipe to follow
-It will look a bit manky after a few uses, not a lot you can do as the stone is porous
-Don't overload the pizza too much as it'll burn on the top element
-You'll probably need to rotate the pizza halfway through cooking - this definitely
-Sack off the timer & do it by trial & error - first one got a bit burnt, second much better
-Sign up to the gym as you'll want to eat pizza everyday
Also agree, don't assemble the pizza on the peel - silicone cutting board worked best for us.
Assemble the pizza immediately before placing in the oven as this stops the passata 'wetting out' the dough and making it stick to the peel.
Pizza picture is the second version.
Does anyone have any tips for keeping the stainless steel body & chimney clean, i.e. no heat marks?

So it seems my bad luck with the Roccbox faulty gas burner continues. They shipped a replacement and it still is not directing the flame in the middle so they think it could possibly be an issue with the oven unit itself where the gas unit is not sitting correctly. I also noticed when unused for 2 days the Roccbox temp guage still shows about 10c temp so even that is messed up. So now I'm thinking maybe I should just request a new unit especially since I paid the full price just last week or just refund the whole thing and try my luck elsewhere?

Stick with it. I take no notice of the temperature gauge anyway. Can you see anything wrong with where the burner mounts?
Nope, don't see anything that would suggest bad connection. The gas unit attaches perfectly fine to the oven and does not seem loose or bent. The other thing I'm concerned about is the one year warranty on these things which seems very short especially paying premium price. Anyway, keeping fingers crossed!
I NEED to try the Roccbox with wood. The gas burner works fine, but they supply a wood burner so I need to try it.
The problem is, where do I get the wood from?
I can't find anyone that sells hardwood kindling.
I suppose I'm going to have to buy logs and then chop them up myself. I have an electric chainsaw, and it's quite effective, but I don't think that's the right tool. I suppose some kind of axe is what I need.
Any tips, or likely sources of hardwood kindling?
