I found 2 bottles of mulled wine in the garage form last Christmas. I can't stand the stuff but we are having people over for nibbles before carol singing in the village tomorrow. Twee I know but hey, I'm an aspiring middle class powerfully built company director wink

Can I serve the wine without poisoning my guests?

It'll be fine. Alcohol is quite a good preservative.

if it did not keep well then there would be a best before date on it , surely.

its got booze in it , it will be fine as long as it has been stored in the rightish conditions.

We had some a couple of weeks ago that was from the previous Christmas. It was perfectly fine.

If it was off you'd be able to tell straight away from the smell.

My wife buys a couple of bottles every year, although we rarely actually drink it. Got half a dozen bottles of the stuff currently.

Anyway, we opened and heated up the contents of a 3-year-old bottle last week and it was fine.

Great. That means I can spend what I would have spent on mulled wine on Hobgoblin or Old Peculiar.

Thanks PH!

Merry Christmas biggrin

I have a bottle of Sainsburys Finest, its 4 years old according to my wife but its 12% and theres no date on it. On the storage notes it does say thats it best consumed within 6 months of purchase.

Ill warm it up and smell it, i'm sure it'll be fine....
