Most proper butchers will have a decent pork pie, either made themselves or sourced from a reputable pie maker.

Looks like the easiest way to cut, just don't think I'd be impressed with the uneven spread of mustard, unless you can always fit a bit from the middle in ya mouth,

Pork pie's are such a guilty pleasure of mine, I like the deli ones from sainsbury's, they've gone up by 10p in the last couple of months though, not happy.

I cycled from Peterborough to Melton Mowbray and back just for a pork pie. It was totally worth it biggrin

Similar but with a lot less effort.

Picked up a car from Sytner Nottingham. Then went on a 40 mile de-tour to get a pork pie from Melton Mowbray before heading back to Wales.

Pork pie is a main staple in my diet.

More recently while in Derby I bought one from Birds...It's up there with some of the best I've eaten.

I hear you on the uneven spread, they were quite small pies (they sold/sell different sizes) so you were guaranteed some mustard content per bite.

On the subject of guilty pleasures in relation to savory snacks, black pudding scotch eggs are mine!

If you cycle pork pie is actually calorie neutral. Fact.

I don't mind the occasional one, but only eat it cold.

Some say, ketchup goes well with a pork pie?

For anyone in Northern Hampshire it is well worth going to Hartley Wintney and visiting Hartley Wintney Traditional Butchers on the main street.

They sell the best Home Made Pork Pie I have ever tasted. Simply superb.

Given that Pork Pies are utter calorie bombs they'd better taste fantastic...and these do.

That is the work of Satan. Ketchup with Pork Pie! Anathema!

Mustard.

Pork Pie should be eaten at room temperature.

That is all. smile

For some reason, pork pies play havoc with my hiatus hernia, giving me a high risk of heartburn.

Every now and then, it's worth the risk.

Another pork pie fan here smile I like the small ones and slice them into quarters - add Branston pickle and some extra mature cheddar cheese with a side dish of beetroot. Sometimes have a scotch egg with them too smile

I used to quite like pork pies, even went to Molton Mowbray and tried them there. Good, but still lagging behind a fresh Scotch Egg or prime Sausage roll for a pig based snack.

However, a few years ago I was introduced to the northern version of the pork pie, as developed in North Yorkshire. It was a cultural enlightenment, a truly magnificent thing, competitively made and sold by local butchers and a completely different food stuff to the (now) entirely sub par efforts from the Midlands and South. I'm convinced there's a good business in importing them to London. Add a hipster (and £3 a pie) and you'd take over the world!

There will be someone local to you that makes awesome pies, you just need to find them,

Around here (Doncaster), Toppings Pies are my go-to.

Their Farmers Pork Pie is to die for. It has whole grain mustard in it. I can never stop myself from doing the whole pie in one go!

I love pork pies. So much, I make my own.

They're so easy, and so different to the sh** that supermarkets are happy to sell.

And you can tweak a recipe to suit - this week I did it with a mix of pork mince, diced rabbit and chopped chorizo. Now that with a good piccalilli was simply amazing.

The idea of a Pork pie is always nicer than the reality tbh

I always end up eating more of the pastry than the pie....
