Just tried the Also hand crimped Melton Mowbray.

Quite good, better than the average supermarket pork pie. Shade too much spice, but then that's typical for MM pies, just personal taste though. Will be having that again sometime.

My favourite too, also the Aldi one...

Bit of a different topping on this one, Stilton, from Weetons in Harrogate. Served with a side of caramelised onion relish, just the thing to watch Final Score with.

Pickards Pies were serving up at the cricket club in the village last weekend during the cycling... They were excellent (with peas and mint sauce.... I was shocked how well the combination works)

More of a sausage filling than pork pie, but very nice if you see them locally. (not my photo)

I love a pork pie, however, I'm getting heartburn just reading this thread. Anyone else suffer from this affliction and, more importantly, have they discovered a pie which agrees with them? (Rattling zantac or omeprazole isn't an option).

Both indeed excellent choices, but for even better go a little further north to Weatherheads in Grassington and Pateley Bridge.
Thanks... an excuse for a run out over the tops.
Just been working in Grassington so picked up these two; one pork and apple, the other pork with caramelised onion chutney. Both fantastic, check out the way the meat is in small lumps rather than a congealed block.

Nice.
