Food was OK but nothing special. Only had the 'basic' burger and the meat wasn't particularly flavoursome. Fries were fine.
Full table service and the staff we dealt with were good.
I agree. I went a while a go to the one that is maybe 500m from my office and I haven't been back.

So after 2 months of living in London now for work.... Patty and Bun still reigns supreme for me!

Did go to Meat Market for lunch yesterday, and their Burger, Fries and Drink for £10 at lunch was excellent, it was a very good burger! Downside.... it was too heavy for lunch!

Soz! smile

I probably need to try them again - just find the menu/choice a bit uninspiring and the crinkle cut chips a bit 1970's Beejam. Anyway, as I say, they appear to be plenty busy without my custom!

Seems like I’m in the minority here, but I find the patties well cooked and seasoned and importantly consistent (unlike other places) - never had a burger under or over done or seasoned.

The bread is a bit stodgy though so I usually remove a few bits around the edges.

This is all delivered by the way, for some reason shake shack always seems to be the quickest and always arrives piping hot, which will be a factor.

I’m not a big fan of fries generally but I like theirs because they’re always crispy, how I prefer them, and the cheese sauce is nom!

Favourite burger though is probably still the Dead Hippie at Meatliquor, shame they’re no longer on Deliveroo

Shake Shack/Bleaker burger > Burger and Beyond > Patty and bun > Meat liquor > Honest Burger.

Schnippers in NYC. Great burgers. The Big Schnipp is $14 and 10oz in toasted brioche bun. Fries are $4 but not the best, prefer fresh cut. Onion rings are great at $5. Not bad prices for midtown

Meat Liquor in Leeds last night. Only a moderate size as I didn’t realise the portions were a little small. Still very, very good and I shall be going back to try something else.

Is it the perspective or are those onion rings really bigger than the burger?

Might just be perspective, but they were pretty big.

Wendy's to give the UK another go, maybe
https://www.mirror.co.uk/money/american-burger-cha...

The article doesn't seem to mention it but they were definitely in the UK some years ago, I used to regularly go and enjoy their square burgers and bowls of chili, and I remember they had salt and pepper pots on each table. Maybe they were only in London, I don't know. The weird triangular McDonalds at the bottom of Shaftesbury Avenue definitely used to be Wendy's, and they had a shop on Oxford St as well, just opposite where BhS was, I think that one turned into McDonalds as well.

I'm glad I'm not the only one confused by the way the Wendy's thing is being heralded as a new thing to the UK - there used to be one in Leeds and another in Bradford, both far better options that the other similar chains and you could pretend you were being healthy by having a jacket potato or a salad a long time before McDonalds went down that route.

I'd be happy to see them come back, I suspect they'll be aiming for a Five Guys price point though rather than a McDonalds one.

The picture of the restaurant has "Wendy's is coming back to Britain" below it.

For all the times I've been in the US I've never tried one.

They are half way between them in the US. I don’t think they will succeed if they are 5 guys prices. A lot of people in the U.K. think Five Guys is overpriced and that’s not a market you really want to play in.

It does seem that we're going to have to get used to paying much higher prices here for stuff that's not particularly expensive in the US, i guess for the experience of something that isn't McDonald's or BK. I don't expect Wendy's to be any different. I'm waiting for in'n'out next.

Just need Arby's to come back now (they were on Lower Regent St) and my 1990s fast food life will be fully recreated

I don’t think In n out will anytime soon as there is still a huge amount of the US that they don’t cover
