Popeyes the other day. Absolute rank. Too crunchy and little flavour. Burger was ok, the tenders and pieces of chicken awful.
I appreciate the shattercrisp tag line but just tastes of unpleasant grease. Makes KFC look gourmet.
Wont be going back!
We've had one open recently in Chelmsford (did you got to that one?) - haven't tried it yet though. I appreciate the shattercrisp tag line but just tastes of unpleasant grease. Makes KFC look gourmet.

Yep!probably wasnt helped taste wise as I may have got parking ticket for parking round back of M&S and what seemed to be a deliveroo driver organizer had fetched traffic wardens (7:00pm on a friday)!!!
i was there for 5 mins, and she was walking towards car as i was coming back so said what you doing and she said permit only took photo of front, i got in and drove off as she went round back. Await the ticket in the post all for some minging Popeyes!
Mcd's selects had more flavour than the tenders. may give it another go in few months
It’s been 4+ years since I’ve been to GBK, I thought they had gone under but it turns out they’ve just closed their 2 cardiff shops, Bristol still alive and kicking
I forgot how good they are, £44 for 2 people with drinks is expensive no doubt about it, but their patties are superior to anywhere else (even hubbox) and certainly outpace 5 guys which is so overpriced and over hyped
We enjoyed them so much we went back a second time last night!

Don't have a picture sadly, bud just tried Archie's at Manchester Airport. Had their Route 66, basically a cheese and bacon burger - was reasonably tasty other than the bland turkey bacon they made it with. Was £9.50 for the burger and about £3 for the fries, not too bad considering its in an airport.
Not sure if I'd search it out again, but not bad for a knock off 5 Guys.

Looks good! Yet to try them, whenever we go to Trinity for grub we always seem to end up at the burrito place... Motoring12345 said:
We went to Shake Shack, we did 3 burgers (1 was a double), 2 fries and 3 drinks. The total came to £48. I had a mini heart attack with the bill and it's not like I'm a newbie. I've been eating there semi-regularly since they opened in the UK!
If you eat there often and know the prices, what gave you the "mini heart attack"?Gassing Station | Food, Drink & Restaurants | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
