Burgers & fries prices

Slightly O/T, but I was in BK earlier for a take-out, and made 3 observations:
- Their chicken nuggets are awful, just awful, compared to McD's. I bought 6 and binned 4 of them
- Their cheeseburgers are possibly slightly better than McD's, but from past experience can be hit and miss if the bun is a bit stale
- Their staff saw fit to give me an old-style £1 coin in my change
If anyone from McD's is reading, can you PLEASE bring back the hot mocha. You've got far more obscure (& unworthy) stuff still there on the menu.

My local does a lovely meat range, a personal fave being their pulled pork burger. Nice rare beef patty with pulled pork and kimchi - £14.

Can't find any of my photos but lots on the google page.
Ribs are fantastic as well, and whisky and beer. It's probably part of the reason for my less than svelte physique ...

,
I prefer their whisky selection though...
Can you tell I'm a fan? They tend to be quite busy, so worth booking if you're planning to drop in for food

I was taken to a Hungry Horse chain pub the other day by friends with kids (they've got a kids ball pond soft play thing there) and had lunch.
Wasn't expecting much but it was a pleasant surprise.
Double daddy burger for £11.
2 thick, what looked like hand made burgers, maple cured bacon, cheese, lettuce and burger sauce in brioche bun. Comes with chips, jalapeno bites, corn on the cob and coleslaw.
Was stuffed. No doubt I'll get called council, but credit where it's due, it was a lovely bite to eat.

Decided to try Hawksmoors burger after seeing them on top of TimeOuts best London burgers list and reading some comments here about steakhouses having the best burgers. I tried their special which was a double bacon cheeseburger, and friend (Korean) tried the kimchi burger. We're both "burger connoisseurs" and been to quite a few places in London but not gonna lie, both burgers were awful.
The dry-aged beef was just too overpowering and funky, all I could taste was the meat. I've had other dry-aged burgers that were nice but with this, I could hardly taste the other flavours; bacon or cheese and also the in-house pickles on the burger were very vinegary. The friend who had the kimchi burger said the kimchi tasted nothing like the real stuff and when I tried hers it was just meh.
We ended up paying £25 each for burgers, fries and a drink which I think is reasonable for a place like Hawksmoor.
