Sigh you live in England and by the sounds of it have never been to Australia.. and what is your point? Pizza hut Australia only sell one size of Pizza.

Look at the ad, they really were selling them for $5 each. You were wrong, accept it and move on.

Also where is the 12" Pizza in the UK for less than A$10 (£5.50). You'd be lucky to get a 9" pizza for that price.
I'm not wrong at all.

1. You said a Dominos pizza in oz was £2.50. It isn't its a minimum of 310, 4 x as much
2. You said it's gone up to $7. It hasn't.
3. You said a Pizza hut pizza is $7 it isn't.
4. Now you are quoting a 3 year old advert.

I'm quoting facts you are spouting nonsense.

It's still a massive gap

$7.95 = £4.30

UK site shows £15.50 as the cheapest large. £8.79 for cheapest regular.

Domino's is a franchise but the franchisees are allowed to set their own pricing. Places near student areas will do a one topping large collection pizza for a fiver.

Can’t recall if i’ve mentioned it before, but Boxcar (W1 London) is worth a visit - http://boxcar.co.uk

Also you would be mad to pay full price, only on offer - which they have continuously.

FWIW a double Big Mac meal here in Canada is about $12. You can get some ridiculously cheap deals though. A&W do coupons for meals costing $5 and they’re pretty good.

Back on topic; thank you.

What's the consensus on Meatmarket?

Personally, not a fan of meatmarket / meatliqour - didn’t feel good value and in the latter case it was so bloody dark in there I could have been eating the decor...

MeatLiquor's beef burgers are pretty good, without being '10/10' special. However, their buffalo chicken is probably the best chicken burger I've ever eaten. Absolutely perfect, right down to the spicy buffalo sauce. Their onion rings are also excellent, but I'm not hugely struck on their other sides (particularly the 'hippie' fries, which are dripping in spicy oil...). On the value point, I didn't really notice them being significantly more expensive than the likes of Honest/Hache.
As an aside, I've had a few dealings with Mr MeatLiquor - while he's one hell of a character (and larger than life in person), he's also very passionate about his food and the quality of his ingredients.

I went to Fat Burger in Wembley after the boxing last night.

Clearly not a good opportunity to showcase their talents with 80,000 people leaving a venue but needs must and I succumbed.

It struck me as a good concept and at a quieter time decent nosh.

I’m surprised there aren’t more of them in the UK.

Went to my local Beefeater last week for my birthday meal and ordered a Wagyu burger and triple cooked chips. Chips were great, burger was decent with nice toppings but it's a good job we had a voucher, they wanted £14.95 for it!

I was gobsmacked when I saw Dominos prices here in the UK... You want £17... for a Dominos...
I've never understood it. No wonder that most Domino franchise owners are millionaires. Pizza in other parts of the world is cheap and cheerful.
I never got the Domino hype. Recently I decided to try it, I got the obligatory discount code. Ordered and was surprised what turned up. I felt it was way overpriced even discounted. Plus the two I ordered were really oily.

First and last time.

Reminded me of Nandos. Really poor, thin chicken. It was all about the sauces offered I thought, their USP- true?

Nandos was 10yrs ago has it changed?

Funny you say that. My wife happened across Nando’s last week. It’s been years since I ate it. Terrible was the report. Sign of the times. I think you have to be pissed to tolerate this crap

Nobody ever pays £17 surely?

They've got special offers every night of the week where the largest pizza is £9.99 at worst.

Every Tuesday is two for one at my local. I believe other shops have even better offers.

I tried a burger from The Habit in Santa Barbara years ago. That was the original restaurant and now there are others. Tried the one near Millinenium Mall Orlando, last month. I ‘think’ it’s considered best burger chain in the US.

Well worth trying. Very cheap as well.

There was a separate thread on this a while back, which rampaged over tens of pages. My gut feel was that I couldn't fault it for a tenner (for half a chicken and a couple of sides), and that it can be much more healthy than many other 'fast-food' alternatives.

I paid $25 (USD) for effectively a whopper meal in a Burger King the other day. It was inside an airport in Asia though, with very little "western food" competition.
