McDonalds are still continuing to serve seriously undercooked French fries. Horrible. They really do need to get it sorted out I cant understand why anyone would want to eat them like that.

Still, the Big Tasty with bacon is still a pretty good burger if you get one that's been made well.

Sadly, in my experience it's neither big, nor tasty!

It's a low-end burger chain, barely a step above Five Guys. I think your expectations were a bit high...
To be honest, I see Five Guys on the same level as a burger off the market... maybe the foil doesn't help?

Been to Hache (Camden) and GBK (Mailbox, Birmingham) this week and both were pretty good. Nothing special, but nothing dreadful.

Of the chains, Honest remains my favourite.
id say gbk is below 5 guys in quality.

GBK is awful

despite my previous distaste for 5 guys (imo they do not seasons the patties enough, if at all which creates tastelessness) i had one which id kept warm in the boot above the exhaust (the boots gets very warm in quads) from harlow to nr c'ford a few weeks back and the bacon burger with fried onions was actually not bad. rate there hot dogs still. maybe it matured on the drive, or maybe i was very hungry

the sauce in the big tasty has changed a few months back, which has regulars up in arms. i haven't tried it, but the old one was ok for mcd's.

mc'ds not doing Christmas burgers this year but a chicken big tasty...which is apparently just 2 chicken selects in a bun...that's taking the p surely...how can they justify not having a proper chicken patty for a 'premium' item???

i had a chicken burger from BK in Helsinki when in a rush before meeting on Monday it was OK...not one you can get here i don't think had a 'popping' coating.

i looked at Hesburger (not for the first time) but didn't seem at all appealing. Anyone tried it?

in addition recommend folks check burger lad out on twitter/blog gives a fair idea of whats good, some interesting Christmas burgers about.

Finally ahs anyone tried the new KFC fries yet?

Better than the old ones... but that isn't saying much.

They taste like McCain's and I'm yet to try one that's been fully cooked although the sample size was one meal.

GBK really isn't "awful". That's just melodramatic.
It's had its day, as many restaurant concepts which scale rapidly tend to experience. But they can still produce food which is more diverse/thoughtful/well-made/well-sourced than fast-service trash like 5Guys and Shake.

I'm intrigued. How much do you think that should cost outside of an airport?

its subjective. to me they have horrible thick patties, cooked as a cheap pub burger would be trying to sell its self as premium. Think hungry horse, beefeater etc. we sometimes get GBK takeout at work, the only decent think ive found is the pesto chicken burger thing. the halloumi sides are ok though.

5 guys and SS are cooked to order too, not exactly fast serve tbh.

I'm going through T4 LHR next week, just had a quick google and burgers seem to be going between £11 and £14 at the airside pub... So if true, LCY is definitely extracting the urine.

This is the kind of thing I'd expect to pay £6-10 outside of an airport though.

Yeah but that's Helsinki lol, very expensive place. I fly from Gothenburg a couple of times a month and it's now over a tenner for a pint of Brooklyn lager and about 8 quid for a Carlsberg Export! Scandinavian countries love charging through the nose.

Game burger with truffle mayo won't be cheap anywhere.

I once had a Veal and Foie Gras burger, in a G.Ramsay place. Don't recall how much it was but I think it's up for the "Most Pretentious" and "Least Ethical" awards.

Tasted bloody amazing though.

So presumably the Heathrow restaurant is identical in every way to the one in City? And the burger is completely identical to the one in City?
I'm not even going to dignify your price estimate with a reply.

good point, but i dont find Helsinki too bad really less so than Stockholm, but i try not to drink booze when there as it can lead to things the Finns like when p*ssed...karoake with clients isn't fun.

Oslo is ridiculous price wise though.

i used to fly from Gothenburg a fair bit a few years ago, is the crappy ex military airport that you landed at from stansted still closed?
