Yes I've been to the Cardiff one a while back and was pretty impressed.

Shake Shack (Victoria) on Friday

Double cheeseburger with shallots (meister burger?), Vanilla shake, fries
£17, quite average quality I thought. Burger quite small and a bit greasy.

Despite this the place was packed, struggled to find seating. Really badly designed - menu is about 2 feet from the window so easier to read from outside. Half the seating is blocked / covered by pillars.

GBK much better and similar price, not sure why this chain is popular.
With Bleecker directly opposite Shake Shack in Victoria, Shake Shack rarely gets a look in, and then it's just for the cheesy fries.

Many years ago after a night out we would all pile into a kebab House and buy a burger and chips from there. they were fairly tasty if I recall correctly.
Does anybody still do this?

Bleecker is tiny though (as are their burgers to be honest) - they only have about 5 tables and 8 seats!

True and true. Bleecker’s are like Krispy Kreme doughnuts. One is never quite enough.

bread meats bread in Edinburgh on tuesday. black and blue burger or whatever its called. nothing special, beef over cooked and not that tasty, but then i had takeout (and it had some strong flavours up against it) so maybe not a fair reflection. poutine was very nice though.

Back in Bristol for the Honest Christmas Burger. Camembert and cranberry sauce. Very tasty. Service was a bit st though. Clearly whoever was on the phone was more important than me.

Cost was £12.50 which includes chips so it's not really any cheaper than the usual menu when you add chips afterwards. Coke was £2.50 and I asked for a glass this time. Not sure why you'd bring a knife and no fork. Bit silly really.

Quality could be very variable though. I'd say the sweet spot for those type of establishments was up to 2006 ish. Good footfall from pubs, healthy margins = food that's to a decent standard (for the price point). Now it's almost impossible for a lot to make a living.

My best friend eats his burgers with a knife and fork and I've legit gone off him since I saw him do that.

The knife would be stabbed through the stacked burger to stop it falling apart, if you need a fork to eat a burger and fries you should be having a word with yourself.

A lot depends on the dimensions of the burger and what sides you have. Try and eat coleslaw with your fingers.
