Wahlburgers Covent Garden due to open in June at long last!

Anyone tried in the US?
I work maybe 500m from the one here but I haven't been yet. Gets strong reviews.
Plenty of competition in CG but they have a great spot in James Street by the tube station - will be the nearest food place for anyone arriving by underground. Hopefully they won't just rely on the location and will bust a gut to serve up something decent.

You'd hope that would be the case. It's not hard to make good burgers. I'll accept that it may be more difficult keeping it consistent. The issue with CG, sky high rents and Council Taxes = expensive food

Offset by massive footfall.

But there is only so many people you can serve and when it gets busy, quality goes South. I'd give it a try. He's not a great actor but he's very likeable and has his head screwed on.

Very true, I believe one reason that M&S closed was Council Tax (business version!) of c. £1m. But then Franco Manca seems to do fine in Maiden Lane - pizzas around £9 and house wine £16! From memory - so happy to be corrected.

Any well run food place will not struggle around there. Preparation is the key.

Bareburger in Manhattan yesterday;

1 plain cheeseburger
1 blue cheeseburger
Fries and onion rings
1 white wine
1 Large IPA

£60.
Plus tip or including?
Including a 20% tip. But still...
20% Tip WTF - I thought 12% was the norm

20% is seen as bare minimum in the US in some places I have been.

Pounds or US Dolalrs?

I'm jetting off to South America soon where I'm not expecting to pay much beyond a fiver for good burgers. A tenner will get you 300g of Argentine coo cooked to your liking.

If you ever want to start a fight between Americans, just ask what is the best amount to tip... Still that's £48 for the food and alone. I'd be expecting a happy ending for that much.

Wimpy!! Man I loved that place. Not seen one in 25 years. I fear I'll be disappointed as my memory of one is amazing. Similar to finally rewatching The Guyver, thought it was the greatest movie ever, until I finally watched it as an adult 20 odd years later Haha.

I'm off to find a wimpy!
Get yourself to Teddington then. We still have one. And you can have a gander at the golden postbox for Mo Farah’s 2012 gold medals too.

Or Littlehampton. You can have a gander at what neglected seaside towns are like while you're there.

Have you spent much time in the USA? I had a couple of pints at Miami airport on Monday and an 18% tip was automatically added, and there was a space to add more if I wished.

I did not add any more!

A real taste of my childhood when the only options as a treat were an eat in chippy or a wimpy.

Au Cheval in Chicago. Voted USA Food Network best burger in America. They do a Single (2 patties) and a Double (3 patties), with bacon comes in about $22 and fries are $7 when you include tax.
It is an amazing burger and the bacon is about 5mm thick and cooked in honey - (which is delicious).
Not uncommon to have to wait 4 hours for a table (although typically if you join the queue to get in 30mins before it opens you can get a table).
Should be on the visit list if you are ever in Chicago.
