Burgers & fries prices
Discussion
Third Bleecker in 7 days, whoops. But two people I’ve taken have agreed they were the best burger they’ve tried.
Also, bought some burgers from the butchers that supplies Bleecker at the weekend, except they replace the fat in the Bleecker mix with bone marrow in their own ones... they went down a storm.
£29.50 for two burgers, one fries and two pints, not cheap, not big, but Still think it’s worth the price.
Place called Dexter Burger just opened near me having expanded from London.
My god they are good!

I went to their original place a few years ago after picking up a car for the bro in law. We both agreed they were fantastic, milkshakes and fries were mega too. wish there was a local one.My god they are good!

Some of my best friends are burgers but!
Having just got back from the home of ste food (USA) I have to say that the last photographs (Slap & Pickle and Bleecker) put me right off. They look a right mess! Too much of everything, add-ons for the sake of it. The Bleecker looks undercooked (I know some prefer!) and the bun looks like supermarket budget stuff. Both look like the entire meals could be mushed up, stuffed in a jar and served up like baby food.
I think the USA with it's cheese on everything, bacon this, BBQ sauce that has made me yearn for a back to basics burger - quality meat and bun, cheese (maybe) on top of burger only some salad and (maybe) pickle and possible a blob of sauce. Plain fries.
You obviously enjoyed them so I'm not criticising your opinions/choices - but they just don't do it for me!

Each to their own, the beauty of a burger is it's highly tunable to meet your needs on the day of consumption and if the Slap & Pickle one (that I considered a back to basics burger) worries you I won't repost the stuff from Almost Famous
Had a surprisingly decent burger at the Science Museum in London today, double bacon cheeseburger (2 x 6oz) with fries for £13.50. The bacon could have done with a bit more coking but it was a nice thick cut and heavily smoked. Burgers were cooked well and seemed of a reasonable quality, caramelised onion, burger sauce, lettuce and tomato.
I'm sure there's much better options locally but as a tourist convenience it was decent.
