I guess posting 10 times in a thread about something that doesn't interest you is one way to keep that post-count high. You keep on plugging away, champ. laugh

Nothing for me thanks. Awful place serving over priced awful food.
This, this and THRICE THIS!

I went once and I don't think it's possible to be more underwhelmed and over charged. I just don't get it.
When they first opened in the UK and only had a few locations the food was actually pretty nice, which went some way to justifying the slightly excessive cost.
It's the bold bit that I'm really struggling with. I can be in and out in 20min, and have eaten a filling and reasonably healthy meal (chicken, rice, corn) for under a tenner.
How on earth is that "excessive" when a "meal" at McDonalds or similar (or a sandwich and crisps from M&S) can run to over £6 easily? (for which I don't get cutlery or food brought to my table)

I'm going to be honest. I don't actually know whether "socket" is supposed to be offensive or not. Perhaps I'm out of the loop...

I don't think anything has suggested I'm "wound up" at all, unless you can point something out - principally because I'm not. It's quite clear that the 'wind-up' is your intention, but I don't think you're bright/creative enough to manage it.

An average of 5 point something posts a day versus 3 point something posts a day, not really anything to write home about frankly, not as if it's many many multiples of input. Anyway you carry on trying to belittle and shut down any opinion other than yours. What was it you said on that other thread? Wasn't it something about people being entitled to their own opinion. Now leaving you to your own devices, hypocrite. wavey

Maybe you two can talk your differences over by going for dinner together.

Any suggestions where they can go?

So it serves cheap, good value, sometimes hot food.
Which people may or may not like depending upon their personal taste. But if they don't like it that is only because they are pretentious snobs.

Does that provide an executive summary of the thread?
I expected to like it, I like KFC yikes for instance, but as Nando's struggle to serve food above room temperature, I am afraid that I don't like it. I wouldn't call that being snobbish - see KFC.

Agreed, I don't call it snobbish either, was just taking the Mick a bit, but not out of you obviously.

Don't really get the hate of Nando's? No I wouldn't go there for a nice dinner, but I think that has been well established.

I work on Baker Street and we have take away for lunch most days, every day i'd say. There are not many fast food restaurants not available to us, and if you include deliveroo which we use most days as well (patty and bun, Nora etc mmm), pretty much anything I fancy is withing reach. Nando's is by far getting the most business from us, relatively healthy (Chicken thighs and Olives please), decent quality (I mean it's grilled chicken, only so much you can do), decent sauce though I think they're to vinegary and not hot enough (I boost it with Blair's sudden death).

It is what it is and has no competition really. Have a chicken and foxes near by but it's rather dull in comparison.

I mean, isn't the point of this topic to say what your typical order is? yet its turned into people coming and saying 'err no, horrible vile food, totally beneath me'

imagine - if you will - someone making a steak thread on how do you like your steak and several people came in and said 'err no, vile, meat is disgusting and its cruel, don't understand how people can eat the stuff, gruesome and sickening eating a dead animal' between the few people who actualy say how they liked it cooked.
That's how the internet works.

You hunt down a thread that has no relevance to yourself or your lifestyle, and then proceed to inform people as to why not. Because, you know, that was the original question, right?

I'm glad I'm not the only one who sees how tragic it is.

Precisely, and why the assertion that the procedure is to "hunt down a thread" simply to be a contrarion. That's as opposed to just encountering the thread on a what's new listing, or otherwise by chance. Hunt down a thread, comedy gold.

What's tragic is the frantic desire to paint anyone who doesn't conform to be some sort of snob.

Some folks like different things, for example I like to try small independent places, some are real finds, some distinctly less so. Others like the chain experience, where they know exactly what they will order, time and again. Fair enough, works for them, my nephew is like that, but then he is autistic so in his case that's an explanation.

Some people have made disparaging comments about the place and the clientele, true, others have clearly said that side of things has zero relevance, but yet are similarly tarred with the broad brush snob smear.

It's the inability to accept others' viewpoints that is equally tragic and, frankly, hilarious.

That's not an order though, is it? Unless you actually go into Nando's and say "I'll have nothing, thanks. Your chicken is pre-cooked and your chips are lukewarm".

After following this thread, that doesn't seem as far fetched as it once would have

Which is as useful as popping onto a thread whereby someone is asking something about for arguments sake, childrens car seats, and replying with "I don't have kids".

Thanks for the input there
