I'm quite fortunate where I live and have a fair few local breweries with tap houses that also sell to local bars and pubs. Depending on what your drinking you can pay anywhere between £3.20 and £7.50 for a pint.

The £7.50 stuff is usually high percentage loopy juice and the cheaper stuff your boggo IPA/lager but its all good stuff and you generally never have to drink anyting with a brand name to it.

£3.20 in the Black Horse (Emmer Green Reading)

Manchester the other night £5.90 for Doombar.

I remember back in the mid 1990's a pint in my home village was IIRC £1.35 (£15 incl large chips and gravy was plenty for a cracking night out) then somehow over a couple of years suddenly it was £2.40/pint!

I recall Uni in Cardiff smile. Winstones on a Wednesday 50p a drink. Then the underground pub near to the Owain Glyndwr 80p - 12 Reefs in 45min challenge.

Best non U.K. Has to be £0.23

I absolutely begrudge & refuse to pay more than £3 for a pint, in a pub in Devon last week they wanted £3.80 for Tetley's or John Smiths ! Not even cask ale.
While ever there's a 'Spoons then I'm happy.
If everyone refused to pay these over the top prices then the price would come down.

I work near the Gherkin so..................

Local pubs vary between £4-£5.50 a pint for beers and lager, Guinness at top of range and generally the highest per pint.

Local Craft Beer pub towards Aldgate goes from £4.50 up to £7-8 a pint but does include some loopy juice that they only serve in half pint glasses.

Where I prefer to drink at weekend (Leigh on Sea) decent ales start at £3.20 a pint and I generally don't pay more than £3.80 for a good beer, albeit I drink the lower alcohol stuff at c3.4% whenever possible as the 5+% stuff keels me over after about 4 these days hehe

You wanna get yerself down the hill to The Fox & Hounds in Caversham, infinitely better selection of beers, but a little pricier.

Has been transformed in recent years. Used to be a sthole full of unwelcoming barflies, but has twice been voted CAMRA Reading Pub Of The Year - just lost out to The Nags Head this year.

About £3.85 for me in said local.

My local had Belhaven lager at £2.95 (nope I'd never heard of it before either), it's now been replaced by San Miguel at £3.40 a pop.

In my local a pint of Rattler is £4.50. Not cheap, but I don't think Rattler is ever cheap. Other decent ciders can be about £4. Not sure about lagers/ales, I don't drink them. West Cornwall, for location and near the sea so the price goes up.

spoiled for choice with local breweries with tap rooms. Pints are £2.50.

If i fancy a bit of rough there is a pub near that sells a pint of San Miguel for £2.27.

If i go out to a resturant its £4.50 a pint,

My rural Shropshire 'character' local - £2.50/pint for choice of two well kept local ales (hand pump) or cider from a bag in box. Guinness from a can slightly more. No lager available. No TV.

Other local pub (in rather better decorative condition with TV etc.) local ales and guest ales somewhere between £3 and £3.50/pint. No idea how much for lager.

My usual pub charges £3.45 for any of the guest ales, and a bit more for lagers and ciders. Other pubs in the same town (South Cheshire) charge between £3.20 and £3.80 for bitters, depending on strength. I went to another local place (which is more of a restaurant, really) before Christmas, and their bitter was £3.95 a pint, which I thought was a bit high as it was nothing special.

There is a new local pub with a massive selection of beers in the back room. I saw someone buy a round of four drinks that cost them virtually £20 which I thought was high, but that was two glasses of wine, a bottle of Prosecco and a pint of something, so probably not all that far off. They've got some beers in the back room for around £30 a go, will be interesting to see whether they ever sell any.
