Not tried the CharlesMacleod black pudding, but 100% with you on the rest!!

I live local to Buchanans and without a doubt the best steak slice I've ever tried.
Me too, walking distance. Bill Buchanan was actually my next door neighbor when growing up.

Not a fan of McSweens, I'm sure I'll be disproved in a reply, but every Scotsman I know have similar to views to me on it. For me, when I occasionally went to Edinburgh for work or had colleagues come down south, it was Crombies, but their online prices were always ridiculous.

I must admit, and some may question my taste as a result, I actually quite like Halls haggis, but it's gone from being common (or even the only one I could get) to elusive.
It's not the best haggis but we could argue endlessly about which local butcher makes the best haggis. It's reliable though, easy to find and decent enough. The veggie version is ok as well, we ate a lot of it when doing a vegan challenge thing.

The quality of Halls stuff has went drastically downhill since they were bought over a couple of years ago. I got some of their square sausage a couple of months ago and the texture was awful, like the meat had been pureed. It was also very fatty.

Not tried any since then - I used to know some one who either worked there or in connection with Halls - I remember at the time they thought Halls would be gone for good, but then they were bought out/rescued at the last minute. Will skip if i see one of theirs again.

Only the name was bought over. The Halls of Broxburn site was razed to the ground and any stuff with the Halls name is now produced in Ayrshire.

Bumped and bookmarked - love Haggis and like the sound of some of the above.

In particular I’m looking for a really spicy one?
