As an ex resident of Bedfordshire, and having watched GBBO last night, I've just made some, now in the oven.

Just had some butter mince pies with Jersey double cream. Early Xmas. Tasted incredible.

What were the fillings exactly?

Gammon tater and onion in the savoury end, and caramelized apple in the dessert end.

It really was good, however next time I'd lose the tater, and have more onions and a few bits of carrot.

I can’t really tell by your pictures but I think I’d want to chop everything up a bit smaller and uniform, but then I have ocd tendencies.

Definitely going to give it a go at the weekend. I’ll add my pics to this thread... you never know spikey, this time next year it could be a million page thread!

Perhaps I should clarify that the pastry was made by the other half

and so was the filling
