New wheels - No TPMS
Discussion
Hi all, just bought some new wheels for the miss'es A Class.
They don't have TPMS on them (or at least the car doesn't think they have) as the yellow warning light is on permanently.
I have been into the service menu and there's no option to disable this on there. Does anyone know if this is possible without taking it into a main dealer?
I have an OBD2 fault reader if that helps (I've not tried it as yet).
Thanks in advance!

Swop the valves out of the old wheels. They’ll have to be put in the same position they came from as are coded to each position on the car.
The dealer maybe able to disable the Tpms system but if the car is built after I think November 2014 some euro law came into force that all new cars have to have a tpms system.
I also believe it’s now part or going to be part of the mot test to visually check the tpms dash light goes off upon starting the car.
Obviously if disabled this won’t be a problem but manufacturers seem to be making it harder and harder to turn things on and off via the various ecu’s in a car
