Hungover today, so my body is starting to crave Maccas lunch. But my brain is telling me I'm already setting myself up for disappointment as it'll take 45 mins to arrive and be cold, as usual.
Do I hold on until dinner time and order the go to pizza instead.
As discussed a few times, ordering a McD's for delivery is never, ever a good idea. It will always be delivered late and cold. I have no idea why anyone does it!Do I hold on until dinner time and order the go to pizza instead.
Just go and get it yourself and enjoy!

On this occasion though, it sounds like Mrs UTH has to run some errands so she might pick it up for me. That said, the last time I collected it myself, it still wasn't exactly hot by the time I got home, and I don't live far!

At a drive through today, OH wanted a cheeseburger with no cheese, got to collection window to be told to park up and wait. No chance, the car park was jammed full, and last time we had to wait for 20 minutes! So I said no, I will have a refund. She says it will only be 5 t(yeah right!) so I still ask for a refund. She takes her ridiculously oversized eye lashes inside and he Preston, 30 seconds later it appears.
Very annoyed at the BS

Tried the Steakhouse Stack.
It's exactly what you'd expect; a burger that tastes like every other McDonald's burger but now it has peppercorn sauce.
I thought it was quite good. Double stack burger is always better than a single thicker one. It's exactly what you'd expect; a burger that tastes like every other McDonald's burger but now it has peppercorn sauce.
Peppercorn sauce surprised me - actually had some kick and flavour, more adventurous than they usually go...

Going to McDonald’s is no longer a quick visit as the deliveries dominate and overwhelmed the kitchen.Very annoyed at the BS
Stood waiting for 10 minutes for a quarter pounder and fries, saw steady stream of delivery drivers with ordinary customers standing on the side lines waiting

Two lanes - I sit there the other lane is processing and nothing my side when the third car gets processed I abandon and drive to the window. Poor girl said she was dealing with lane 1 but lane 2 guy is having to sort out the Delivery orders…… inside was packed with waiting customers…..
McDonald’s is a sin that is meant to be a quick in and out and don’t tell the wife. If it’s now normal that you wait 10-15 mins I’d rather leave it tbh.
Btw I live in a very dull small town that is unreasonably well serviced with chain takeaways in a 10 mile radius and it was 21:00 when I popped in…..
They genuinely need to consider a ghost kitchen for the Uber Eats and deliveroo crowd.

I think before that they need to look at how they triage orders. Some places are better at this than others. One of my local restaurants is terrible at it and you get service like you describe and the other is great at it and you don’t really have to wait long at all. The system should be quite simple, in order of priority -
Restaurant
Drive through
Deliveries
I had a great McDonalds experience today - food came quickly, fries were hot and salty. Probably not a coincidence, but there were no delivery drivers, probably as it was an out of town restaurant by the side of an A road.
On the other hand, my wife had a rubbish experience at our local (can't have 1 child being taken to McDonalds, but not the other ), it is more of a drive through restaurant, with hardly any tables and loads of delivery drivers.
