Double sausage and egg muffin meal £5.99. What are you eating for “not far off £10”?

Popped into McDs yesterday and had a Big Mac, Medium Fries and Mayo Chicken Burger for £3.18. Used to only cost me £2.98 frown

As schools are off and the sun was out, it was like a war zone.

Presumably he's speccing up the muffin but "not far off" is still doing a lot of work here.

How does that work?

The other day I bought a large coke and it was £1.99! I remember them being a lot cheaper.

If you do the survey after each visit they email a voucher for a Big Mac & Medium Fries for £1.99 and then I add a Chicken Mayo for £1.19.

I wonder if even the staff are sick of delivery drivers. Parked up today, wife took daughter in to go to loo and get a Happy Meal, driver parks next to us in a disabled bay, walks in, nearly knocking wife flying, and guy on the door, security or just regulating numbers, gives him hell and tells him not to park there. I think he made a habit of it. Probably will have no effect!
Then another driver parks in the parents and child bay... Ignorant tossers!

I try my hardest not to judge the drivers as they're gig workers and I get pissed off when my food is late but my god they make it hard. I've heard a lot of rumours of how they're run like gangs and they have their own turfs.

My local one is still taking orders off the proper system and going through them on the paper receipts. It takes what isn’t a very good system and makes it 10 times worse.

Waited almost 20 minutes the other day.

Local McDs re-opened today after a refurb. Additional drive-through collection window, so should be quicker.
Perhaps we have the same mcds...Bristol by any chance?

I've noticed there is now a separate door and waiting area for 'delivery partners'... certainly a big improvement. Although it is rare I go inside these days, 95% of the time it is drive thru.

That doesn’t seem likely, too much of the organisation is controlled by the apps for it to be workable that people have “turfs”.

Like on another thread a while ago where someone was claiming their Chinese takeaway for one was 40 quid or whatever. Turned out they had ordered multiple starters and multiple mains, but still managed to insist a meal for one was 40 quid!

I do a bit of Uber Eats delivery on my pushbike, primarily for Maccies as they're the biggest company on there in my area.

There's definitely an element of "turf" involved with some of the groups of drivers - especially at peak/ surge priced times. Though it seems more like weight of numbers of the "gang members" than anything else more shady.

I've certainly never felt threatened for being a sole rider, though I've had a few evenings of standing in the cold getting no jobs while the other guys clean up.

We had a BK the other evening for various complicated reasons. Can't remember last time, probably Donington services quite a few years ago now, but this was the local(ish) one.

1) How much?!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ( Yorkshireman mode)
2) How long a wait?!!!!!!!!!!!!
3) Every delivery bod looked a right scummer. Their parking and driving not much better.

Be another 5/6 years before another tbh.

I'm amazed when I think back to the number of McDs, BKs and KFCs I used to have. It must have been 2 or 3 a week (I don't mean of each), but now it's more like 1 every 2 or 3 years. I can't say I miss them either.

And, from what people are saying, service is not very slow; surely the whole point of fast-food is that it's fast. If it's not fast, what's the point of it ?
