I had my first visit to one for months and months on Monday, the Eye green branch.

Plain chicken mayo which was crispy and flipping hot and quite nice, and a large fanta which started off nice but tasted quite cardboard-ey towards the end. By the time I got 60 more miles up the road and started picking the ice out of the bottom it tasted even worse.

Noticed one has to jab around the screen alot more nowadays (log in for points, donate this, upsell that, register here etc)

Still, for £3.38 it did the job fine

At least there is a beef and a chicken one this time. Currently its one product less and only a chicken deluxe

I dont see wht they cant offer the deluxe versions all year round. Its not a special its just a couple of extra toppings so can be made at the same station

I would also like to see the indian chicken maharajah mac. The chicken big mac is horrible being battered patties IMO

but yes all very dull. Its making things like the great tastes of amercia 6 weeks and all that stuff they used to do look amazing

Had a double quarter pounder deluxe tonight. Decent enough but it's hardly revolutionary.

I want the grand Big Mac back...

Likewise.

Better still was, it was hot, the place was clean, tidy and the staff falling over themselves to be helpful.

Makes a change from some of the dumps I've been too.

That said, halfway through a chap appeared doing an inspection, most it seems on cleanliness and presentation, so might be related.

Halesowen branch. I'll mention it as it was so surprising given how far standards have slipped at a lot of them.

What annoys me is they mark your order as ready to collect when it’s still 10mins away from being ready.

Why have the bloody screens then. I guess it’s linked to their kpis which they are fudging.

It's the only decent burger they do.

i had it today. the fillings made me think of a whopper. However it was all let down by dry patties. I hate a triple cheese burger that tasted much better (thanks to the new recipe/process change).

its always on, it can be made with existing ingredients if you ask nicely.

pointless update from them as putting an existing extra ingredient, on an existing burger, doesn't make it a new burger.

Said it many times all the “deluxe” versions should be available all the time without asking as it’s no extra workstation space

If you want a decent patty, then McDonalds is off the list. Burger King is your equivalent option. Well was, but they are taking the piss on price now, so they can do one .

Anyone been since they introduced the new cooking processes? Something to do with putting onions on the burger when on the grill? New buns? Less 'open time' for the lettuce etc so should be fresher?

You barely notice the difference. The buns are a bit more shiny on the big mac and quarter pounder etc is all you can really see

I disagree. I had a saver menu triple cheeseburger just after the change over and it was genuinely one of the best McD's I've ever had

I guess it depends on how good your McDonald’s was before. My local one is very good with everything always fresh and hot. I had a Big Mac and you can’t really taste extra onions in the patty because there is plenty in the burger already. The bun is more robust but it is “brioche style” rather than being a brioche bun so the taste isn’t much different it’s just the texture. If you are someone that only eats McDonalds once in a while I don’t think you would notice. If you are a regular and eat at some of the crap ones then yes you would

Same here dude, my local is consistently good, food quality wise anyway (feckers always, always forget something though).

Didn’t notice the new cooking method, but the recent double quarter with cheese was perfect.

I had a triple cheeseburger the other day for the first time in ages as I'm not often near a McDonalds. Despite not knowing about the changes, I commented to my gf that it was noticeably hot and seemed freshly made compared to some of the lukewarm efforts of the past.

Hopefully that's the new standard and I wasn't just lucky with timings or something.
