Yeah. The add ingredients option has now made it to London whereas previously it was remove only. Quarter pounder with cheese with added lettuce mayo and tomato for 20p extra yum

You can't educate pork, as my old man would say.

Last few times I've been in, all the ordering points have been busy, but the human ordering point has been without a queue.

Why do the ordering screens never have any paper in their printers these days.

And why have they started calling out "Guest No. 77" instead of "customer" or maybe "diner". "Guest"? it's not a hotel.

Had a Big Tasty today, it was yuck, the sauce was awful, what have they done to it?

Heresy!

Bloody love the big tasty sauce - and it's on nowhere near frequently enough!

Holy st, had a big tasty today and it was also awful. It's one of my favourite burgers but it came out cold and all I could taste was layers and layers of lettuce.

Some of the branches have the ordering system figured out pretty well but a few stores I've been to have been a massive st show.

The one at Wembley stadium is a disgrace.

I do a 3hr journey with my family of 5 and there’s a McD half way which we’ve fallen in to the habit of patronising.

The screens caught me out the first time - particularly as the meal options were hard to find (need to choose a burger then meal option not the more logical choose meal then burger option IMO). However now I have used them a few times I find them ok but the big gain is a saving on price. My family want very specific items, ordering them by person (only way I could remember at the drive they) meant paying individual prices. Now at the screens I get a chance to think about combining the items into a few meal deals which has turned a £20 spend into a £16 spend for the same items.

Stopped using the drive through as found the screens quicker IF we can find a parking space (Colchester stadium services off the A12). For a restaurant in the middle of a field it’s woefully under provided for parking.

Tried a Big Tasty, yuk. Stick to what I know now.

That is also the only McDonalds I ever frequent.

Normally for breakfast when spending the weekend at my dads. Parking is woeful.

Screens are very good there.

If we could have purchased a larger plot we would have. Local Authorites also have parking standards relating to the number of spaces we’re permitted, which we try and stretch as far as we can.

McDonald's need to go back to the good old fashioned system of having several human ordering points. The newer system is a shambles.

Everyone just stands about waiting in confusion.

I went in for lunch the other day, two of us. We ordered separately at the till. My food came out, I waited about another 5 mins and my friends food still hadn't arrived. I sat down, ate my food and then his food was ready once I'd finished.

Funnily enough, I find it a significant improvement over the way it was. Order, pick up a little number thingy, and go sit down and read until the food arrives. With a mate? Order together, food comes out together.

We both paid by card as we had no cash. He ordered a st load. Sod paying for him then trying to get the money back.
I estimate the waiting time has gone up about 2 or 3 minutes since the new system has been introduced. And that's from a few McDonalds around the country.

I reckon a lot of it is down the sheer amount of choice they have these days, I blame entitled millennials for this laugh

The main selling point of a 'fast food' outlet is fast food, you achieve this by having a small menu and racks full of the stuff waiting to be thrown at the next customer.

People are too fussy, so we all have to wait longer as a result.

It's burger and chips not fine dining.

I'd say wait time has gone up, only slightly though. But that's due to the fact they have a much larger menu and cook more things fresh. Gone are the days of getting nuggets that have sat in the warmer for 2-3 weeks.

I agree here. McD's et al. are losing customers left, right and centre in most countries, so they've been expanding their menu to try and entice more customers back. The UK is bucking this trend though.

In the US, you've still got a lot of those kinds of fast food chains, go to an In-N-Out and the menu is a 1, 2 or 3 (they've got the secret menu, but you don't need to complicate things)

Whenever I have been it's because it's all been fresh. They don't just have it in the heated racks to throw into bags, gotta wait for it to cook.

I would rather wait 5 minutes and get the burger I want, how I want it, fresh than the old days of ending up with a cold Big Mac and icy fries because they had been sitting around for ages. Used to be even worse if you used the drive though. All the crap at its time limit went out the drive through because they know you won’t take it back

They hot hold the patties now like they used to hot hold the nuggets etc and then construct to order. I like it but the cheeseburgers are a bit hit and miss now.
