It does annoy me when you get cheese that isn’t properly melted and stuff. I’ve never had a cold patty as such but certainly the buns and other ingredients
Burger King used to, may still do, melt the cheese by putting burgers or part of burgers in microwaves. This was 10 years ago though when I worked there.
There'd be uproar if it happened now.

Seemed to work, but I'm sure they've stopped it now as I don't hear the microwaves anymore when I go.

Wetherspoons burgers taste better than MCdees,. the drive thru burger is very good.
I did their three for a tenner thing the other day and got chicken wings, a pepperoni pizza and some chicken goujons, all of which were brilliant tasting. I know it's not haute cuisine but I cannot think of anywhere that is better value for money than Spoons. The large pizza and a pint is only £7ish!BrabusMog said:

Agreed. Definitely can't go wrong money wise. I love their breakfasts - you can get a full English, a half decent cuppa and still get change for a tenner. blueg33 said:
There are so many places that do really good burgers, that I can't do MacD or BK anymore.
Maybe I am just getting older and more middle class
Of course there are, but I don't know many besides McD and BK that (usually) give you your food in 5 minutes or so, and you can walk down the road eating it out of the bag if you want (or drive away if its a drive through).Maybe I am just getting older and more middle class
Wetherspoons is about the quickest of any pub food but it's rare to get it from the kitchen in under 15 minutes. And it will be on a plate to go with your pint, not something you can walk away with. They're not comparable.
Even Five Guys, seem to take 10 minutes + to actually produce a burger, not sure why, they generally seem to have about 30 staff in the kitchen doing nothing.
Anyway, there's a whole other thread somewhere here for different burger restaurants.

signature collection manky thick stodgy dry burgers are being discontinued.
could have worked had it been a nicer patty (big tasty patty is ok as not too thick, or double ordinary patty, and actually changed the available variants from time to time, or had something similar to our european cousins.
spicy nuggets coming soon
double 1/4 pounder too.
great tastes of the world in septemebnt, eill no doubt be as boring and samey with repeats as great tastes of america was. then the festive menu after that...big tasty again as it was last year no doubt.
all courtesy of burger lad.
in seperate news i had a double halloumi burger from BK at services the other week. added cheese. was actually good.

There are. McDonalds just have a ton of locations, and I do like the double Big Mac.Maybe I am just getting older and more middle class
There is a good A&W location on my walk home from a usual night out, they cook to order as well but the overall quality seems higher, the food is always properly hot and they constantly do coupons so I can get a meal for $7.
I've not had a problem with cold food in my local McDonalds. Yes the cold salad does go on a hot burger, but that way the salad stays crisp. Who wants warm limp salad?
I prefer this to getting an 'old' burger that could happen on the previous system.

Oh no! I really liked the Signature Classic with the mustard sauce, salad with red onion. Only thing I would change about it would be to a plainer bun, like a quarter pounder bun. The Signature buns are too sweet and buttery. They taste ok in isolation, but they make the burger a bit on the rich side.could have worked had it been a nicer patty (big tasty patty is ok as not too thick, or double ordinary patty, and actually changed the available variants from time to time, or had something similar to our european cousins.

Eh? They already have takeaway-only branches, and have done for ages, for example the branch on St Martins Lane in London has no seating.Or am I misunderstanding what the "new concept" is?

My understanding of them if that they are like sandwich shops where you walk in and there is a heated rack with Big Macs etc on them and you pick them up like you would in a sandwich shop, take them to the counter and pay
ah so we can self-select our cooled down burgers and be forced to have them with pickle in, gotchaGassing Station | Food, Drink & Restaurants | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
