Down in Glasgow for few nights and looking for any good recommendations for an Indian Restaurant.
Obviously good food but also with good personal service and not too cramped.

Mother India would be my choice. The haddock and lamb leg are superb.

I took my team there when we were in Glasgow for training. 2 fillipinos who normally just eat biryani when we do Indian, 2 goans and a guy from hyderabad. Thumbs up all round.

Dakhin is also decent but dosas aside (I do love a good dosa!) mother India trumps it.

Shenaz behind the Mitchell library at Charing Cross.

One of the oldest family run Indians in Glasgow my grandparents have been going from the 60/70s.

I live in Cumbernauld 15miles away and will drive in just for a carry out!

Koolba for me.

Mother India is good too.

Obsession of India is currently the best rated on tripadvisor but isn’t that good.

One I forgot to mention was India Quay in Finnieston.

Not sure if it's changed hands but the owner used to be on PH.

Been to all of them and would probably recommend Mother India. It really depends where you are, when you eat, who you're with and what you are doing. If you are going to mother India and want to sleep afterwards go for the lamb Raan, serves two and comes with everything you need. If you are going out after or doing lunch / early evening Mother India Cafe is my go to. Mother India cafe is tapas and you can't boob so be prepared to stand outside queuing. Balbir's is also great try the lamb.

Quick update, booked Mother India and wasn’t disappointed.
Great food and service, liked the small menu idea and made me go for something other than the usual.
Sure the others would have been a good call and may try when down again.

Not Indian but went to Ubiquitous Chip on the other two nights, great setting and food. Highly recommend.

Stravaigin (sp?) and ox and finch are also worth checking out. The latter is run by an ex absolute taste (mclaren catering) chef and apparently hard to get a reservation. Easy enough on your own midweek as a walk in tho. The food is excellent.
