KFC USA. They don't have fries!
Discussion
Doesn't really surprise me
On my first trip to KFC in California the woman behind the till asked me if I wanted a biscuit - I was totally confused. Turns out to be something like a muffin (not unpleasant though).
Seems like in the US they have different sides with their fried chicken, be it waffles, cornbread or the "biscuit". All with gravy. They definitely like to mix their sweet and savoury.

What annoys me is the old KFC chips were far superior and after years of crap fries they are trialing skin on rustic chips in 9 places.

I didn't realise.
They have potato wedges but no fries. Now to be fair the fries in the UK are poor so why don't we get the wedges?
Fried chicken in the US is traditionally served with mash, gravy, green beans and biscuits. I guess they decided when coming to the UK in the late 60s that this wouldnt go down well. You used to be able to buy a brown meat or white meat meal in the US which you cant do over here either. They have potato wedges but no fries. Now to be fair the fries in the UK are poor so why don't we get the wedges?
Its interesting to visit the big take away chains around the world and try the differences. Chicken big macs in India mmm

What amazes me is how a whole nation likes sweet stuff all over savoury food while we as a whole nation just can't get our heads round it. How can tastes be that different.
What next? Chicken curry and chewits?
Try watching US food programmes (esp Diners, Drive-ins and Dives), they put sugar in everything! What next? Chicken curry and chewits?
