Energy Drinks....
Discussion
I do, ashamed to admit really though, probably have 1 a day may be 2 and have since red bull came out, health wise not really seen any impact for me personally, though obviously teeth don't do so well with the constant sugar but I have not lost any teeth etc and they pretty good as I clean / floss x 2 a day. Worth noting the sugar content in all the energy drinks except Red Bull has dropped significantly in last few months, a full fat Red Bull and Boast used to be around 125 cals but 250mil can, this is still the case for Red Bull but Boast and other cheaper brands dropped it from that to around 30-40cals a can.

I've had M-150 in Thailand, it was like a syrup of condensed Redbull tasting stuff, used to have it before training. Apart from that never really bothered with them. The thought of having one of the large cans of Monster doesn't seem right to me, such a volume of sickly, sweet tasting stuff.
I have coffee, probably 3 espressos a day, usually have sugar in my first of the day too.

You should try one. I'm guessing from your post you've probably been underachieving all that time.
I have tried them, but don't see why a normal human eating a decent diet needs them.Unless you have an illness your body should provide all the energy you need to function.

First of all, I think they should be banned purely on the amount of rubbish they create - definitely one of the worst litter offenders.
Your 8 cups of coffee/1 can of red bull analogy. Would you rather have 8 small waves of water lapping at your feet or one large breaker knocking you over? Kids drinking mutiple cans of this stuff is just not healthy.

The aluminium cans are much better than the plastic bottles in terms of recycling and damage caused etc.

I often have a no sugar energy drink, probably 3 times a week!
I have had 2 this week so far, one on Wednesday before the gym and one this morning before the gym.
Mostly before training (I am a casual gym goer btw not an olympian), if I am dieting I will drink one to satisfy a sweet craving.
For everyone saying do you need them blah blah blah, no but do you need the cookie you ate last Tuesday or the pint you had the other week with your old dorris?

I don't drink energy drinks.
I don't drink coffee.
I do however, partake in copious amounts of high quality cocaine.
So swings and roundabouts really...

I went through a period of drinking one sugar-free Monster per day but they don't really do anything for me - other than tasting nice - so I stopped.
When I was studying for my A-Levels, my mates and I used to visit the shop nearest our school and they sold a 1L bottle of sugar-filled energy drink for 75p! I had one of those every weekday for 2 years. Urgh!
